how about variations of green and orange? They’re classic mehndi colors. You could do lime green and tangerine, or olive and rust, or emerald and burnt orange. Or maybe you could even go lighter with pistachio green and apricot/peach. That way, it’s the soft color palette that you had in mind and it also incorporates the mehndi colors (albeit a watered-down version)
