What to tell the littles

You are seeming to imply here that the child who was given too much knowledge and then told the other kids about it...comes from an unethical home without values? I can't agree with that. Actually, the father is a religious leader in the community and the mom serves on the school board and PTA. They are very nice and very well respected and their kids are smart, polite and very well behaved. The kind of family that you'd be glad to have as a friend for your child....

Unless you inquire, you'll never know what other parents feelings are about what they want their kids to know. About reproduction, drugs, homosexuals and I could go on. Some parents want their little ones to think its a stork that bring babies, some want their kids to know an extremely simplified version of the truth and some give allllll the biological details.

So you get your kids together with only other home-schooled kids. Do they talk? Do you know how their parents would answer reproductive questions? Do those kids have young adults in their families who may pass on "too much" info which of course would/could get passed on to yours? Even home schooled kids can and do acquire "street knowledge" to one degree or another.

Sorry, I reallly dont think its preventable and I really cant agree that its a question of family ethics. The teens who "get in trouble" are typically those who get more "street knowledge" and "playground knowlegde" than proper knowledge from home. Like I said earlier, if I had answered my son's questions to his satisfaction, he would not have sought the answer from the playground. Thats the key here.
