What to tell the littles

…about “getting” babies???

Mine are age 7, 6 and 4. My 6 yr old has a classmate whose mom just went thru pregnancy and birth, he (and ALL the classmates) kept wondering how/where the baby will come out etc. I kept telling my son that its a bit complicated, he doesnt need to know or worry about it till he gets a little older etc. But that didnt satisfy him apparently cause the other day he VERY proudly told me that he KNOWS where they come from…“they come from the mama’s in-GINA!” and upon further questioning, he actually kinda knew what an “ingina” was!!!

I almost fainted. I guess I didnt tell him enough?

Re: What to tell the littles

LOl.... mama how about check some children books on from where babies come from at your local libraries. They might make your job somewhat easy...:D

'Angina' is chest pain. J/K :p

I remember asking same question from my older cousin.

She just laughed and told my mother. She said go and do something better.

Thats pretty appropriate cause my sons "INgina" comments caused ANgina for me lol

Next time I am NY/NJ I would love my family to meet your family. Yours seems like a fun family.

It would be lovely to meet you and yours Mirch. Please PM me when you plan to be in NY.

Remember the Nitro.

:mudhosh:

many parents choose to tell their kids everything! that’s how the messages are passed …good thing he learned on his own…

My kids were really curious and kept asking me - all I could come up with was - the dr.'s cut the tummy and get the baby out… hehe - not very creative :frowning:

Re: What to tell the littles

I believed the stork story for a very long time.

Re: What to tell the littles

I would tell them a little bit of the truth ..not something that's completely made-up so incase they hear stuff from other kids..it matches upto what yu'v told them and isn't completely different.

Like telling them it comes out of the mommy's tummy...isn't going to far? I think. I am not too good with this stuff.

g'luck!

Re: What to tell the littles

my 7 yrs old was telling me sometimes back how babies come out of the "urine place"!
I left it at that, but i think i better explain to him before he gets more stories from the elder cuzins!
As Lusi suggested, explaining to kids using books wud be a gud idea!

Re: What to tell the littles

Oh my, I might have fainted too! I would tell them they come from mommy's tummy.

our Maa jee told us that angels use to drop babies in their mothers’ laps..

and we, Saaday aur Shareef batchay, believed without doubting any bit of it :hehe:

Re: What to tell the littles

I was told that babies used to come in a little boat on the river. Mammas and Pappas would go there and pick them up. Haha! Parents!:vivo:

Re: What to tell the littles

Lol i know this is embarrassing but mom only used to tell me that allah se ate hain bachey so i left it at that but when i was in grade 4 we used to study about fishes and all that and another kid told me that babies come when mommies and daddies lay down together on the bed, just like male and female fishes go close to each other and i was like what:eek: i believed that till about grade 7 when i was damn shocked:eek::hayaa: now its cool!
