What to do at work lunches?

Re: What to do at work lunches?

Want to be sure I understand - it is just as easy to be someone who does not eat pork as it is to be a vegetarian, correct?

In other words, if a vegetarian can manage to join colleagues, so can someone who does not eat pork.

But if it is a religion based discomfort with going to a non halal restaurant, the requirements may he more stringent is what I gathered from earlier posts. For example, my mother does not go to any restaurant that serves non veg. More of a religious restriction for her. Looks like similar constraints may apply to some who are devout muslims and don’t want to risk contamination.

I think in your earlier post, you had provided some workarounds. If such workarounds are not available, don’t you think it is ok to say I will be happy to join you folks if we go to a halal restaurant?
