I strongly believe the evil doers are doing evil acts and they do not represent vast majority of Pakistani people and muslims.
How to stop these people is by counteracting them anywhere they are found.
Educate people for pride of nation or Ummah and teach the true essence of religion for its peaceful and yet firm hold on beliefs.
Also counter any person/media which is just taking false advantage of calling islam or muslims or Pakistani in general being responsible for acts committed by yet very much minority evil doers.
If these bad people call to the name of religion to justify their bad acts..what stops others not to see the hypocracy in their acts????
Taking away topics/stories of Tipu Sultan, MB Qasim or others from textbooks is just moronic acts and will deprive people from their history knowledge.

Ban all Deobandis and Salafi mullahs and shut down their madaris. Deport all their chiefs to Saudi Arabia.

What to do with the radicalized Mullahs? Arm them to the teeth. Do the same with the secularite scumbags, who are corrupt and are intent on debauching culture and society. Put them in a stadium...death match. 'Nuff said. Winner gets a swift kcik in the arse, and a lifetime job licking light sockets.

only key is education and oppertunities to the youth. once thats available to them, they will stop listening to fake jihad calls.
current madaris needs to be bring into main stream education system by inclusion of the other subjects ie arts and science instead of only relegious studies without any guide lines.

I dont' know much about pakistan. but from my fellow muslim friends what i got is islam as a religion is not bad but few people are taking undue advantages and trying others to take steps which are forbidden in kuran/islam (like killing, opium, arms etc).
What mullah think and teach is calling for Jehad is reserved and only the can use it but i read one article that islam permits any one to call for jehad if it's for good of mankind and is to do the right thing. Also recently few islamic groups ruled that forceful conversion to islam just to get married is not permitted in Islam and one should convert only if they have faith in religion.
My personal thinking is - one should change as par the time. So studying in madarassa is old fashioned way of study B'cos all of us know learning science/medicine/engineering or foreign language is good for us and our country. If you educate new generation they will stay away from this kind of people who make use of them in name of 'jehad'
my friends also told me that middle east countries (arab world) are way ahead in study pattern than us desi counterpart even though they are muslim too.

^^ mostly right but the last part is be misleading, arab world is the root cause of this current fake jihad and madrassah funding. only very few go to madrassah and possibly also go extermists larger part of Pakistanis attend normal state schools and are way ahead of Arabs and middle eastern in professional studies.
Spock saheb, PML(Q) is already neutralised means that they are unlikely to use any action by government (PPP) against this menace for propaganda and political mileage. Reason is that PML(Q) have already tried their best to bring this menace in control during last few years but could not succeed because some political parties started propaganda full of lies against government actions. Result is that, even now President Musharraf and PML(Q) are paying the price for those actions. PPP is roped in by President to fight these menace and PML(Q) is already on board with President's decision. This is done to give a kind of political face (perceived popular political face) to operations against this menace. Hence, if government (PPP) would decide to take concrete steps against the menace, they would find PML(Q) cooperative.
true government is doing what it can. The proganda machine in the west support by hindu extremists makes people think the opposite. Government has sacrificed many troops and security forces.

He's right. I always stresssed Pakistan should keep it's distance from Arab countries particualrly Saudi Arabia. Theyve given us nothing but trouble. Used us ro fight their proxy wars against israel, but still maintain close economic ties and politica to india.
Spread awareness of the true essence of Islam as widely as possible. This will do two things, 1. It will truly educate the masses 2. It will clear any confusion people have about what is right and what is wrong, as well as the types of Jihad.
that simply wont work if you ask me. it will just create more extremist. the more you educate the masses about a certain subject, higher chances more will turn to the right.

human history is replete with examples to prove that whenever religion becomes too important to people, violence is right around the corner. The only countries that prosper and live in peace are those that learn to keep religion to some limits
