what the!!! they have DANCE CLUBS that serve alcohol in pakistan now???

Why do Muslims, especially Pakistani Muslims, try so hard to be Arabs?

It is not disgusting if you don't over do it - whether dancing or drinking. If you ban every form of entertainment & relaxation you will become a nation of frustrated regressives and trail the rest of the world a few more centuries.

with alcohol u have progressed far ahead? how could alcohol help in progress? but it didnt taught u to respect others faith yet! Islam doesnt allow alcohol and is haram.. so there is no question of debate for its benifits or otherwise.. muslims believe that alcohol does more harm than good so its prohibited.. non-muslism should not have any problem for muslims not to drink.. as we have no problem with non-muslims drinking..

Enlighten us, or me, on the correct pronunciation , Dhulfiqar.

Why do you spell your name *Dh*ulfiqar? It's supposed to be Zulfiqar. Are you an arab?
[/QUOTE]

No, I'm a Pakistani.

Dhulfiqar was a sword the Prophet (sallallaho alaihe wassallam) gave to Ali (radhiallaho anhu).

It's an Arabic word and therefore it should be pronounced the way it was meant to be.

Pakistani's pronouncing Dhulfiqar as Zulfiqar, Ramadhan as Ramzaan is just as bad as the goray prononcing Muslim as Moslem and Qur'an as Koran.

It's not about trying to be an Arab, I'm happy being a South Asian, Pakistani, Muslim.

Then what ur talking about in this thread about drinking? yes muslims should not follow what is arabic culture.. Islam is so flexible and is the very reason it spread all over the world.. but we have to be strict about drinking.. in matters of cultures muslims are fully allowed to follow local cultures and tradition if they dont clash with basic faith of Islam.. I celebrate basant as a local celebration..

Pakistani pronunciations of what were Arabic names & words are correct since they were assimiliated into Urdu vocabulary centuries ago! Your logic would hold if Urdu speakers were neophytes to Arabic vocabulary; it's been over and done with so get with the program.

You are an unwitting participant of the resurgence of the Arabization in Pakistan that was started by the idiot Zia!

Allah’s invention?? LoL

I’m not making fun out of Allah’s creation, it’s not his tongue I’m laughing at it’s his accent.

I could criticise the west too, the origin of all these evils is the west but that’s their own countries and their business and it doesn’t really bother me what they do.

It just hurts me to see the ****ed up state that we’re in.

I didn’t choose to live in the west I was born here, if I had a choice I’d be living in an Islamic country but sadly even our own country is just Islamic by name. All pick ‘n’ choose Islam. So there’s no point in going back, here at least I have some bro’s to chill with who love Islam and practise it but there everyone wants to be “Amreekan”.

Pakistan was made as a separate homeland for Muslims’ of the subcontinent; our ancestors sacrificed so much for it, why?? Because Muslims are different from the Kufaar, we have some morals and guidelines to live by. But Pakistanis are trying to copy the immoral west and India and we are forgetting our values.

The Ummah is in the screwed up state it is in because of our inferiority complex’s, we need to realise that being a forward, modern and progressive nation means following Islam in its entirety not mimicking all the bull**** the west comes out with...

Dhulfiqar sahib, Pakistan is not as bad as you think it is. If you live there for a while, you will find out. A few elites going out to night clubs and bars do not generlize for the entire population of Pakistan, who comply to Islamic norms.

After reading this post, I need a beer... :)

tis true.

its beginning in pakistan too.

it used to be limited to private parties and such..and in most places it still is.

but Karachi is the only place I know that actually has this whole clubbing scene..all the claptraps of nightlife that you'd expect.

in a couple of years lahore/islamabad will probably catch up.

I find that very sad.

one of the more famed of those places is named Evolution.

funny?

i wonder by what measure these guys have been brain washed.they r born in west, live in west enjoy all the benefits there but still place the heart some where else. is this not betrayal to the land of their birth. if the conditions of their mother land were so rsoy n islamic then why the hell did their parents n ancestors go to west first?.these guys r the dictionary meaning of hypocritics n traitors.
iam really taken aback by this dark culture setting in.

sir,
i donn think v should maintain a discussion forum if u require all the posts to echo ur own thoughts. if u want some thing of that sort then it ie far better to jus post ur thoughts alone in ur own website n leave it there.
i refer to my last posts n many previous ones.

Islam is not a religion like some that are associated with some area or region.. just liek christianity! Both religions have florished all over the world.. there are millions of muslims in west and that their home.. and their religion is Islam.. howcome drinking a western thing.. drinking is done all over the world and muslims dont drink whereever they are.. either east, west, north or south..

Very sad indeed!

As far as being Arab is concerned. Yes we must try to have the right Arabic accent. What is wrong with learning a language in the right accent? We should read Quran, and it is in Arabic, so we must pronounce it right, otherwise the meaning changes.

Hasn't anybody seen those people who twists their tongues to speak the right American or British accent? (in Pakistan) They are the kind of people who are "zehni Ghulam"

i think they graduated

i wish people would be as outspoken against so many practices that go on which are inherently against the principles our religion teaches us.. crimes, corruption, lack of respecting others.

why is teh hoopla always about the vices as such, what about everything else? is it better to be someone who cheats others than someone who drinks?.. poitn being as a msulim both are not allowed, so whyd o we focus on one aspect only?

:k: :k:

Exactly. why?

I say cheating is a sin, and apprehendable acts of cheating should be apprehended. I doubt anyone here would say/believe to the contrary.

It is not a topic of debate. It is a settled issue.

clubbing, on the other hand isnt, evidently.
