people are getting educated. :k:

you could've said 'cultured' and we could have had some argument.. but 'educated'??? how on earth is that being 'educated'??

Educated in the common sense that there is more to life than casting aspersions on free will.

Oh Shut up Matsui if you don’t have anything decent to say, do yourself a favor and don’t say anything at all, half the time it seems like your trying to convince yourself rather the other way around.

Irem baji with all due respect your absolutely right Pakistan should stay committed to its cultural values rather than try to copy values of other nations, its a Muslim nation the government should at least live up to its name. :flower2:

Yeah I second that Miriam, Matsui is in severe need of intelligence he is soooo narrowminded it gets on my nerves yet hes sooo old you'd expect some words of wisdom coming from him!!!!! It’s a pet peeve narrowminded people annoy me.

Any hoo Irem baji do you think President Musharraf is making all these accommodations to appease MR. BUSH by any chance???

Irem, it might not be true at all, you know people spread all sorts of rumours? Trust me, if alcohol was served so easily in Pakistan, those desperate people ready to pay all that hefty money for a single bottle wont exist. It is sold in Pakistan, mostly illegally, and is hard to obtain.

with progress, these things come. its not a big deal. let them enjoy if they want to enjoy.

Irem

first of all its like 3rd hand knowledge, someone told someone that somone went somewhere and somethign happened..

so is it happening, who knows...

people who want to drink will get it one way or the other...lets just say I have been to enough parties in Karachi where alcohol was freely available..to know that it is not hard to get.

if u remember heroine and pot is nto legal in Pakistan either but it was everywhere..

just banning a substance does not mean its not goingt o get in.

Moving on, I would rather have a place where ppl who want to go and drink can do that, and there be some sort of control on drunk ppl driving.

because if we are going to look islamically, non muslims are allowed to drink, plus using the same argument of what is not islamic, Tv shows and music should not be allowed, a rather extreme example, but u know what I am saying. the national anthem has a tune and is played alongside instruments...:)

we shoulkd eb more concerned about the other aspects of what islam teaches us that are not being followed which make a more profound impact on our country. not taking part in corruption, violence, the type of ghunda gardee and harrassment present in our bazaars..lack of respect for others and their rights..

that is more important than some peopel goign to a place that serves alcohol, because if they want it they can get it elsewhere as well.

mats.. so life is all about naked women, alcohol and dance clubs? ..

hairat hoti hai app ki soch par kabhi kabhi.

irem, dance clubs alcohol have always been part of every big city, n karachi is no exception :-)

Life is about an individual to do what they want as long as they don’t harm anyone else, surooorlicious…if that means getting naked and having a drink than so be it. If you are not drinking or getting naked and it is not harming you…what is the problem?

Here is a jackass who thinks that because you have named a country based on some foolhardy principal, people’s free will is at the mercy of the supposed morality police. :hehe: Considering there is no best practice of the “islamic” sytem and there is no example ever in hitory that establishes such paradigms.

So instead of attacking me…wither inplement the right system or go dancing… :nuch:

excatly correct matsui,
i donno in which islamic book it is written that u should moral police others. if ur not drinking u have all the right to b so.but u donn have any right to tell others what to do.these guys r half baked n without understanding the teachngs fully they interpert them to suit their needs. in which holy book is it told to kill ppl in the name of religion n this is what they r doing precisely.i donno if what dubai n kuwait r not promoting alcohol then hou the hell on earth they r able to attract tourist?.r they not islamic countries?.
i wounder these guys will tell not.

The morals of the Pakistani people are deteriorating really fast. 10 years ago most our women wore head scarves, shawls and there was no intermingling of the opposite sexes. People who had boyfriends and girlfriends were frowned upon by society. Some sick people still did it but it was behind closed doors and it wasn’t as rampant.

First the shawls went, then the head scarf, then the shirts got tighter with shorter sleeves and now women have started to wear mesh type of clothing where the only bits being covered are where the bra is. Unnecessary intermingling of the opposite genders has become more widespread. Men they’re into porn and all sorts, even the old men in the Hujjrah’s boast about watching “blue label movies”.

Oh and the number of Kanjar’s/Miraasi’s is on the increase, these people themselves originate from Heera Mandi and the likes, they don’t have any Deen-Imaan of their own and they go about messing other peoples brain up, artists my arse!!

Actually I think it’s the medias fault, all these dirty Indian movies and satellite dishes mess the people’s brains up, what we need is to ban all foreign media and have just our own TV channels providing clean and healthy quality, sports, and educational, religious and entertaining programs.

We are forgetting our Islamic values.

Pakistan is Islamic by name and nothing more. The president might read the “Bismilla…” before giving a speech but that’s about as Islamic as our country gets, even that he can’t pronounce properly, any one heard the way he pronounces ‘h’, it’s so disgustingly desi? :rotfl:

Our people are too stupid to distinguish between right and wrong, they need to realise that not every glittery thing is gold. By following the way of the Kufaar they are not getting “maadran” or “faarvard thinking”, it’s actually backwardness…

Sorry for the long jumbled up reply I had to get my frustration out somewhere…

So your basically saying let everyone do as they please? Everyone is allowed to follow his or her whims and desires?

What a screwed up Pakistan that would be, just like the feckin’ west, I actually wanted to settle down in Pakistan after studies but after going there last summer and seeing the place they are just as ****ed up as the west except everyone’s a freshy and the country’s poorer.

Ahhhh!!! Bloody FOB’s

Obviously you seem like someone sitting outside of Pakistan and venting your frustration from there. Btw, why are you making fun of peoples’ proncounciations son? God gave that person a tongue, and if you make fun of the way he speaks, you make fun of God’s invention. So watch it. So what if he cannot say bismillah properly? He can say that in Urdu too, makes more sense to me.

So tell me, why do you want to stay in the West then? Doesnt the west have dance clubs, ppl watching porn, boyfriends and girlfriends? The only difference is that the magnitude in the west is of a much greater scale than pak. Does the west incite your so called Islamic values? Youre a true hypocrite.

Allah’s invention?? LoL

I’m not making fun out of Allah’s creation, it’s not his tongue I’m laughing at it’s his accent.

I could criticise the west too, the origin of all these evils is the west but that’s their own countries and their business and it doesn’t really bother me what they do.

It just hurts me to see the ****ed up state that we’re in.

I didn’t choose to live in the west I was born here, if I had a choice I’d be living in an Islamic country but sadly even our own country is just Islamic by name. All pick ‘n’ choose Islam. So there’s no point in going back, here at least people are proud of Islam and practise it but there everyone wants to be “Amreekan”.

Pakistan was made as a separate homeland for Muslims’ of the subcontinent; our ancestors sacrificed so much for it, why?? Because Muslims are different from the Kufaar, we have some morals and guidelines to live by. But Pakistanis are trying to copy the immoral west and India and we are forgetting our values.

The Ummah is in the screwed up state it is in because of our inferiority complex’s, we need to realise that being a forward, modern and progressive nation means following Islam in its entirety not mimicking all the bull**** the west comes out with...

Can u go and preach to Hindus like u in India that slaughtering cows dont harm and beef is delicious? but u cant as its hindus faith that thay are sacrad.. If u cant do that how can u as a hindus tell us what we should do? what laws we should implement in Pakistan? Alcohol is banned in Islam and Pakistan for muslims .. and it should not trouble u..

It is not disgusting if you don't over do it - whether dancing or drinking. If you ban every form of entertainment & relaxation you will become a nation of frustrated regressives and trail the rest of the world a few more centuries.

Dancing is a great art form that, like a great painting or poetry, brings out the best in people. Why the heck would you or islam consider it immoral?

Enlighten us, or me, on the correct pronunciation , Dhulfiqar.

Why do you spell your name Dhulfiqar? It’s supposed to be Zulfiqar. Are you an arab?
