Imagine that you are going to help in an Islamic after school in the nursery for 1 hour once in a week, you prepare after the first meeting of teachers and helpers, you plan the lesson for first week that includes Introduction(teaching children to say Islamic greetings Asalaamualaykum, walaykum salaam and fiamanillah(by pictures and actions), telling their names and shaking hands with each other), then you teach them saying Bismillah before every work they do, then shake break, then teach them about different shapes like circle, square, star etc then provide them colourin sheets with different shapes on it, and then sing a long nasheed(bismillah)…
You do all the preparations, you scan the pictures of actions(doing salaam) from a book then you print them, glue them on a hard back paper of different colours, you make shapes on WORD and then print them as colourin pages, you find and modify pictures of the yellow sun, green grass, blue sky, silver moon and shiny stars, all the fruits, flowers etc, then you print them on hard back paper to show children and ask them the objects and colours and then about the Creator, you make cut outs of flowers for children to decorate…
You go to the second meeting(that is being held on the request of the main nursery teacher bcoz she don’t know what to do:halo:), anyway you go there with all the plans and tyari, and you give each copy of plan to the teachers, most of them like it but the main teacher makes strange faces and says " these shapes has nothing to do with Islam" , " our organization means every thing should be related to ISLAM", " they teach these things in the non muslim nurseries as well".
And you think about that teacher" Well, why can’t you bl***y create some relationship between these shapes and ISLAM".
But She doesn’t stop there and she says, " we should teach them arabic letters and names " And you think then why didn’t you bl***y make any thing(any colourin pages with letters or names or any cut outs to teach them)?
Then she looks at the flower cut-outs and says " hmmm we should make mobile with stars, moon and sun for children to decorate instead of these flower cut-outs bcoz it’ll be Ramadan".
And you think, " So why didn’t you make those Mobiles then …by yourself? And Ramadan is not running away anywhere, why can’t it be done in 2nd or 3rd week of ramadan?
Then you think, bl***y hell, some people are here for only keeray nikaling, they don’t put any effort into their ideas, they don’t do any work, any struggle but they expect from others to be perfect according to their own narrow mindset.
And then she says, " we’ll read surah fatiah in the very begining every week so the children they can memorize it" .
you say " OK " but you think " Is Islam limited to only memorizing surahs"?
Then you come out of the meeting room and go to your house then in to your bathroom and you cry for more than 1 hour.
