Just wanted to do matam on such ghatiya soch. I’ve heard that concept, but can never rely on this. I don’t know in which world these ppl live. I’m a Karachiite and can not expect such things from non-muslims and you could believe for your Muslim brothers, because you have some differences with them. Tell me is there any general concept of modesty in your dictionary.

I must stand up and defend the Shia here. (Mostly I do the opposite). This is just used as propaganda by village Mullahs against the Shia. These village mullahs don’t have enough knowledge about their own Beliefs let alone anything about the beliefs of the Shia.
Only if they had appropriate knowledge of Islam, and there is more than ample evidence from the Quran and authentic hadith (from Sunni and Shia sources) to prove erroneous of Shia beliefs, they do not need stoop so low and use cheap tactics to misinform about the Shia.
So these ignorant people mix up some weird practices of some other beliefs and lump it to the Shia.
Similarly it is common belief among the ‘ignorant’ Sunnis of Iraq that Shias have about six inches to foot long tails??? 
Shias spend their Muharram nights in Imambargahs devotedly observing rites of their faith.
(The Cursing of the Sahabah and mothers of the believers (May Allah bless them and be pleased with them all) – well. well - if that goes on - that’s a big NO! No!
It is good to have healthy debate with authentic material.

Why does no Sunni mention objections to** Misyar marriages **which have been legalized in Saudia Arabia by a fatwa from Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz and also legalized in Eygpt by Skeikh Mohammad Sayyed Tantawi in 1999.
Compare Misyar and Mutah marriages information and you self will see what is human and actually has rights of a woman .
I usually don't reply to such threads because I find it hard to believe from the attitude (comments made) of the original poster so far that there was a genuine interest in dispelling this rumor , other than to expand the flames of disunity ,discord and dispute amongst shias and sunnis.

I find it strange that you ask where a rumour originates, yet didn't find it appropriate to ask the person who told you about it to prove their claim. That is what a sincere researcher will do. The rumour has only been added to with your query on GS - I.e. you have contributed to the rumour network. If the person tells you that so and so told him or her then ask if they verified the information before telling you about it. Or ask them to take you to them to verify.
You obviously had a doubt, which means you have never seen hard proof, furthermore the Shi'a functions are open doors nothing is stopping you to investigate personally.
If you are not hard skinned then don't go, because you have to prepare yourself to be offended, but carry no bias or false expectations. Take the Shi'a as you see them, not how you have been told about them.

I just hope this ghatiya practice is eradicated from Pakistan. All these brothel places take advantage of this muta practice, majority of them claim they shia too. So fix the problem before denying it. Again 99% shias are not part of this jahalat, just saying 1% ne badnaam kia hai.

this is inline with my understanding of shia beliefs around muta when more then two partners are involved
Question 1- Is it permissible and correct to have simultaneous sex with several girls and women?
Answer: ... Yes. Based on the sharia it is permissible if the women and girls who have become temporary wives (sigheh) do not look at each other's genitals. Only the husband can look.
Question 2- If it is permissible, how many sigheh girls/women can one have sex with?
Answer: ... There is no certain limit.

**My latest Findings
**
The practice of *Mutta Dauriya *is not common to normal shias. It is being done by hard core shias secretly. It is understandable why shias friends here were so annoyed with this as they might have not known about this. (For reference you can see the bottom part of the advert i posted in post # 28 )
Another thing that i would like to point is that if some one considers this as an ibadah (big ibadah http://www.thedefendersoftruth.com/TPL/Shelf.asp?txtSer=MUTCAT&Type=SHI&Submit=Search ) then why feel ashamed in doing this.All your are doing is making an ijtimai ibadah (as shia consider this).

Ban the temporary marriages in Islam - whether Muttah or Misyar .... Problem solved :)
