Re: what questions

This criteria seemed more into the long-term relationship and its potential rather looks. It is a great approach but like tall, handsome and with good figure can be a rarity. I believe a girl should ask what that person thinks of being religiously compatible with his partner, her personality and character in general. That may give a good indication whether they are on the same track concerning morals.

Re: what questions

i am not even considering the looks category here

Re: what questions

^

Why not?

Re: what questions

i read something recently that i found relevant
people are generally all the same and its what they do that defines who they are.

and if you want to know of a man's nature, observe how he treats those lower (in status or wealth) than him.

Re: what questions

looks will recede with time
personality is what you live with and work with

shweetdreamz, what you hav said is soething similar to what bulbuli said
observe him with others
look at how he reacts to situations or people
how he treats them

i never ask questions from people ..

the questions they ask me .. makes many things clear .. :)

Re: what questions

Watch his behavior with other people. How does he talk to his mom, does he salaam all the elders, how does he talk to your younger siblings, your parents, etc. How does his mom talk to your parents? You can learn so much about a person by watching the way they interact with others.

Re: what questions

yea .. you learn everything just by observation

Re: what questions

so basically i keep my eyes open more than n e thing

Re: what questions

yes . keep your eyes and ears open . it's easy to figure out certain things even if you meet some1 for the first time . good luck :)

Re: what questions

religious questions - ask straight out.
regarding character/personality - the best way of assessing some1 in a short period of time is to see how they treat say a child, or if possible a puppy (borrow a friends dog for the day or something), both are totally innocent beings & he should have no negative views towards either, you could also use the dog to test his religious knowledge, because most muslims don't understand the islamic view on keeping dogs, you know, "angels won't visit your home" and the rest. Dont question him directly about his character/personality, what if he's a compulsive liar? just watch how he does things, you can always catch a fake person out.

Re: what questions

^ chacha khan .. elaborate the religious point .. should i ask him how many times he prays or what :konfused:

Re: what questions

yeah, but don't put it like that, instead ask him how important he thinks prayer is & whether he actively tries to make time day to day for his prayers. If you were to ask straight out "how many times a day do you pray", then not only can he give you a quick & potentially false answer, but a 'low' answer might put you off when really it could be down too his job commitments/situation & nothing to do with his commitment to islam, if you rephrase the question like i did, he'll pause to think before answering & from his answer/facial expressions/eyes you can catch him out** if** he's bending the truth or blatently lying.

Re: what questions

^thx . quite a help .
