Re: What puts off Asian men?
Marilyn Monroe would be considerd obese by today’s standard fashion industry was dominated by gay men who promoted anorexic girls who looked closest to young boys
Re: What puts off Asian men?
bobby, why talking down about gays? you statement is offensive to gays and against western liberal humanist egalitarian values. please take back your words. thnaks.
Re: What puts off Asian men?
I am not talking down about gays. It is a fact that gay men ran fashion world and their idea of beauty is completely different from hetro sexual men. We have gay, lesbians, bi etc in our social circles and there is absolutely no judgement here. Safys best friend is a bi girl and hangs at our place all the time. The idea of anorexic being beautiful has destroyed lives so a valid criticism. I think France banned underweight models.
Re: What puts off Asian men?
Obesity is not appearance but excess of body fat that leads to adverse health effects. It’s not defined by fashion industry but by public health professionals from data.
Re: What puts off Asian men?
I certainly wouldn’t say equal, at a push I’d say a small fraction of men face the same problems. How many couples have you seen where the husband is stupidly better looking than his wife? Its an unfortunate fact that a man will always have a bigger pick of women than vice versa.
A man is judged on more than his looks. His family, status, job. For women first and foremost it’s looks.
Re: What puts off Asian men?
One of my nephews had gotten a bit chubbier and although he is 6-2 with great education, good values and is VP for Bank Of America at 30 and was rejected many times until he hit the gym. Women are getting more financially independent and don’t have to subscribe to marriage of convenience anymore. We don’t associate with desis and here in west I see huge pressures on men to be fit also. I do have to admit that I don’t see any desis, men or women at the gym here.
Here I see the opposite where very good looking men have married below average girls. Guys are dumb and can be controlled very easily.
Re: What puts off Asian men?
I think it depends where you live. Desis are changing and surely you will see many Desis in the various gyms I’ve been in my life. We both are Desis essentially and we both go to gym, so why not celebrate people like us and ignore those who don’t? not even all non-desis go to gym!
Re: What puts off Asian men?
I agree. Some of my married as well as unmarried cousins go to the gym, boxing, swimming etc. On the other hand, some don’t.
Re: What puts off Asian men?
You are an outlier my young friend, there is not a lot of desiness in you. I used to go to scores of desi gatherings and as a percentage a very small minority exercised, in contrast every single one of Harris’s and Saffy’s friends work out. Culturally we don’t value athletics and most focus on education only. Hopefully this attitude towards fitness will change, both my wife and I sell in the desi community and I see many who have a hard time negotiating 4 steps upto the sales centre and struggle to get up from the chair. I am just dealing with issues with my wife’s sister who is getting evicted because she claims that she is unable to vacuum and take garbage out, fitness is not only looks but also about ones ability to do things when they are a bit older and quality of life.
Re: What puts off Asian men?
With desiness I meant our origins. And we must never forget our origins. If you are more on about cultural nous and habits of desis, then I am not desi at all, but will respect desi culture as it belonged to my ancestors. Change in a culture takes time to come and better to leave things on natural evolution and progression than to attempt rapid and drastic unwelcome changes in it.
