You being an atheist and science lover have no reason to believe that you will be able to control the life. So it is irrationality if you think that you could find ultimate source someday. We can have full debate on "why science cannot find the source of life" if any doubt. However, we have reasons (but no scientific reason) to follow the faith.

This week it was announced that a baby born with HIV was cured of the disease. How may people with AIDS and HIV have prayed, or have had faith. Science cured this baby....not faith!

faith does not prohibt curing with medicines. Science is not all about life. What is scientific arguement for being a selfless, caring and giving person? There is no fact behind this atitude, nor any reason.
