What makes a Pakistani a wannabe SNOB???

^ you know when i was younger, me and my mom went for shopping, and bahir se ammi called my brother donno for why. so when she was done calling, there was this pakistani lady passing by and she said very shocked: hain, aap apne bachchun se punjabi mein baat karti hain?? and then she walked away. we didnt even know her

This happened a long time ago…just shows you how long this so called snobbery has been going on for:

I was shopping with my Nanni in London. The retailer was a Punjabi man, so my Nanni, to establish rapport, began conversing with him in Punjabi also. Anyway the conversation was flowing… we purchased our items and we were just about to leave the shop, until this woman (must’ve been around my mom’s age) stopped my Nanni and said in Urdu:

“You should be ashamed of yourself, speaking in Punjabi in front of your young impressionable granddaughter…”

I (then a feisty teenager) was getting ready to fire back at her… “don’t you know who my Nanni is bla bla bla”… until we walked away from her, only a couple of yards… and she returned to her own daughter, only to carry on her conversation… IN PUNJABI!!!

“Look at yourself before faulting others”

This appears to be quite common then, punjabies telling others not to speak punjabi to their own kids. How strange.

IF it was a pathan person seeing a pathan person talk pashto to their kids, they would probably pat them on the back and say “Shabaashe!”. lol
