Girls are not dogs that need to be fed and walked twice a day. I am sure my many spouses will be fine, I am only talking 11 1/2 months of separation. The two weeks we have soem real fun. If you live close to your spouses then they fight but if you keep them away and only see them for the real thing they are ok.

no they r not like dogs but like cats coz they need to be loved and cared for tenderly
dogs when they misbehave, they r sent out of the house...kinda like wen a woman speaks up and the door is opened and she is free to go.
but no they actually need to be fed 3 times a day and need emotional and financial support

Sara, i agree to the thinking behind this idea just like Angel4evr has mentioned. My mom kept mentioning all this stuff and more before I was engaged and to be honest i was also offended the same way you are. But since i have been engaged and seen friends gotten married etc, I have realised its true. when you get married, your priorities are going to change. I am not saying that you wont care for your parents, but you wont just be able to get up and leave at one phoen call from home or friends etc. You would have your husband and kids and a million other things tot hink abt before you even step out of the house.
Another thing that bothers me is that i maynot stay this close to my siblings. Eventually they are going to get married and move away to different parts of the world and we maynot be able to get together as often. But its all a part of life. We learn to accept it.

In my household if the cat misbehaves she goes out to, I dont discriminate.
All I am saying is as long as the sqauws are well fed and clothedthey should have no problems, and they should be willing and able to take care of my ailing parents back home.

I think the saying applied in the previous generations that your real home is with your in-laws because the joint family system was more common then and that's where girls would end up spending most of their lives. I think the whole point of the saying is that even though your family is still your family, you will end up having your own once you get married and have kids (regardless of whether you live with your in-laws or not) and you will end up being really busy with them just as your parents are with you and your siblings and your relatives with their own.

.. this is plain wife in - wife out thing.. just emotional as long as where one stands.. wife-out always loves to claim her parents house her own but families triy hard to state to new wife-in to love new house!!! just think if (u have a brother) and his wife doesnt tries at heart to live happily in ur parents house or place..

You little chikies are worried about cleaing your in-laws dishes, I wonder how you will feel when your Hubby introduces you to his other wives. I guess it will be easier cause now you both can divvy up house chores, like you sweep the floors and other does the dishes; then alternate; use the same rule when sharing bed. Hell that just gave me an idea I can save money on electricity, and water by getting married twice and have one of my wives do the dishes with hand, I will return the dishwasher. Plus I like hand cleaned dishes over dish washer.
