such simplicity, no stress, no burden, no debts, no pride, no arrogance, no fashion show…

Re: what islam says about wedding

I AGAIN SAY THAT PRESENTLY WE THE MUSLIMS ARE MORE ON SHOWING OFF
WE TAKE NAME OF ISLAM IN EVERYTHING
BUT USUALLY OUR ACTS ARE NOT ACCORDING TO ISLAM

PERHAPS THIS IS WHY WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS EVERYWHERE

.

Re: what islam says about wedding

dewdrops: mashallah. Are you the eldest child? When you mean simple, do you mean simple as in number of people attending or simple in other aspects like venue?

I am glad to see that their are girls like you about:)

Re: what islam says about wedding

dewdrop2: mashallah that is great, have you been to the wedding section on this forum?

Re: what islam says about wedding

ami123 , r u sure u are really over your wedding because every question relates to it .

from wt i knw islam says that simplicity is the best way but if ppl can afford to give their a daughters a good wedding then why not . anything that becomes to obsessive way over than one can afford in my opnion is not allowed , as it causes problems for the person later on i.e. debt

Re: what islam says about wedding

Hmmmm i think the first law of wedding should be (or it is i think) that the guy pays for the all the wedding expenses (everything and anything)...
And If you have a lot of money to waste then do a big wedding.. If you don't then do a small wedding with ur close family friends invited....
If you prefer to spend the money in buying a new house or something after wedding then save money and do a small wedding.. so overall it is a choice and extremely personal choice...
Now mehandi, engagement and uptan are all cultural things.. so i think they should be done.. cause ofcourse all of those ceremonies have a meaning, for example mehandi is considered a good luck kinda thing so why not?

So it all depends on the situation and where the guy stands financially..

A final piece of advice would be: if the guy is poor and can't afford to do a big wedding, please don't force him to borrrow money or give him and his family stress.. Believe me he will keep u happier if you compromise.....

Re: what islam says about wedding

@dewdrops2 JazakAllah khair for sharing. It is indeed very inspiring for me to see people in this age trying to follow the simple and beautiful lifestyle of the Prophet (saw).

Beauty does lie in simplicity!

Dewdrops2.Mashaallah you have set an example for many of us...........
At my wedding ceromony all these fazul stuff held because of my Inlaws' wish,
while I was not agree on that..................
I wish I would not repeat all these to my kids' marriage, and have simple wedding.

Re: what islam says about wedding

WE have examples in Islam tht how much they spent on these marriages like marriage of Rasool Allah SAWW and Hazrat Ali AS

Re: what islam says about wedding

I would like my wedding to be just one day instead of 3 days. I think just a small nikah and then valima and I don't really care about mehndi. I would only want close relatives and friends at my wedding, also I am on quite a tight budget.
