What is your jihad.

Re: What is your jihad.

I am not denying the bloodshed but mind you it was mutual. Muslims also didn't leave any stone unturned.

All in all the point is no one called the creation of Pakistan Jihad this was the first time I heard this. Check the facts majority of religious class was against creation of Pakistan.

There is no role of monkeys in movement for Pakistan.

Re: What is your jihad.

Another thread ruined. LOL

Re: What is your jihad.

Re: What is your jihad.

Lets carry on without insulting.

Re: What is your jihad.

As already posted that jihad means struggle and hence any such struggle for good cause can come under the banner of jihad. Few things that i need to highlight is what does jihad means when this word is used in quran and hadith.

I will be sharing my understanding of this word and inshallah if some one would like to discuss this with me we can have a discussion at another thread.

There are some ayats in quran that deals with the word jihad, for example

This Ayah according to many mufassireen including Ibn katheer is related to jihad.
Tafsir Ibn Kathir - Quran Tafsir - The Command to worship Allah and engage in Jihad

So what we should all know is that one of the foremost ahkam of our deen when Jihad is due is to fight in ALLAH’s way in the way ALLAH has prescribed with the intention to give dawah.Yes dawah is best done when jihad is part of dawah.

And then there are explicit ayats that deal with fighting for ALLAH and related ahkam of jihad. Words used are Jihad and Qitaal.

The word kutiba is used in when an important fardh is mentioned. For example
See how the ayat is ended, ALLAH Knows and you don’t. This answers liberals query that it do not feel right to fight like this.

These ayah explain that jihad differentiate between munafiqeen and muslims. Those with disease in their hearts will oppose jihad.(Please this do not mean any action done in the name of jihad is jihad, every action of mujahideen should be supported by quran and sunnah, other wise it will not be jihad rather will be termed as fasaad. But it is for knowledgable to judge if it is jihad or not , those who know not more then anchors at BBC,CNN should not point fingers at jihad.)

Inciting people to fight oppressors is a sunnah of our prophet :saw2:

And then there are fazail attached with JIHAD.

What else muslims want, ALLAH has purchased our lives, this is not offer to sale but a deffered sale. With ALLAH has promised to do HIS part for those who pay the price of jannat i-e fight in the cause of ALLAH.
I have tried to be brief, only quoting from quran and only commenting where necessary. What I want to dismiss is the misconception that most muslims have, that is misuse of jihad word with other noble causes so that actual meanings are forgotten by ummah and then when hadrat Mehdi arrives, most will be standing against him.
Some may argue who to fight, answer is in quran

Fight only those who transgress, not with those wo want to have peacefull relationship with muslims.

It is time to read, return to basics to know how our deen is becoming strange to us,how hardliners on both sides are killing innocents and mocking our deen. Once we know these ahkam more we can identify those thiefs better who spread fisaad in the name of Jihad.

Thus to me Jihad’s foremost meaning is to FIGHT in ALLAHs way when needed and this is the shortest route to jannat.

Re: What is your jihad.

Where in Pakistan are you living? :chai:

Re: What is your jihad.

:mash2:

Re: What is your jihad.

I take Jihad as struggle to get rid of unjust. That unjust could be part of myself, which means I am doing zulm on myself by committing sins, or that zulm could be part of society, environment or any other system that we are part of.

Prophet taught us that there are 3 ways of resisting the zulm or protesting against it. Use force (that does not mean war, that could mean influence also), or raise voice, or at least think of it as something evil in your heart.

Re: What is your jihad.

and that is the weakest of the Iman but the least required from a Muslim.

Re: What is your jihad.

Very true. If we cant even think of evil as an evil then where is our eeman?

Re: What is your jihad.

Assalama alaykum respected brother** bao bihari ** - Thank you for the great post (No:25).

Indeed Jihad has many facets – And fighting for a Just cause and to implement Islamic values with Justice and Wisdom and to fight oppression with all means at hand are very admirable deeds indeed.

I admire and envy those SINCERE mujahedeen who take a stand and struggle against oppression from any source no matter how strong the odds against them. My prayers are for them.

Those who take cover of Islam and fight their own agendas killing innocents, people of other sects and impose their will on people by terror tactics are not practicing principles of Jihad ordained by Islam.

*Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not, aggressors. 190.

And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. 191.

But if they desist, then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 192.

And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrongdoers. 193.

The forbidden month for the forbidden month, and forbidden things in retaliation. And one who attacketh you, attack him like manner as he attacked you. Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is with those who ward off (evil). 194.

Spend your wealth for the cause of Allah, and be not cast by your own hands to ruin; and do good. Lo! Allah loveth the beneficent. 195.* Surah Al-Baqara 190-195

*Warfare is ordained for you, though it is hateful unto you; but it may happen that ye hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that ye love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knoweth, ye know not. 216.

They question thee (O Muhammad) with regard to warfare in the sacred month. Say: Warfare therein is a great (transgression), but to turn (men) from the way of Allah, and to disbelieve in Him and in the Inviolable Place of Worship, and to expel his people thence, is a greater with Allah; for persecution is worse than killing. And they will not cease from fighting against you till they have made you renegades from your religion, if they can. And whoso becometh a renegade and dieth in his disbelief: such are they whose works have fallen both in the world and the Hereafter. Such are rightful owners of the Fire: they will abide there in. 217.

Lo! those who believe, and those who emigrate (to escape the persecution) and strive in the way of Allah, these have hope of Allah’s mercy. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 218.* Surah Al-Baqara 216-218

There are hundreds of ayahs or the Blessed Quran asserting the blessings of Jihad

And Jazakallah khayrun for your post No: 25 Indeed Words of Allah Almighty are Supreme

Re: What is your jihad.

waalikum Assalam Warehmatullah

Agreed.:k:

May ALLAH accept our efforts and unite us all in jannah.

Brother TLK, you just summed up the whole thread. Jazakallah khair brother.

Re: What is your jihad.

That is just HILLLLAARRRRIOOOUSSSS !!!

Re: What is your jihad.

you wanted to say about how the term ‘jihad’ has been used but apart from the first quoted verse, all the verses you quoted talk about ‘qitaal’ and not ‘jihad’. We are talking about jihad here so try to be precise. Moreover, for the first verse, you quoted ibne-katheer and said “This Ayah according to many mufassireen including Ibn katheer is related to jihad.

here is an excerpt from the quoted site

no mention of fight here. so I am a bit confused as what was your point

Re: What is your jihad.

^ he is confused just like many others here. Neither he is going to take your point of view no matter what.

Re: What is your jihad.

If you know the Quranic Arabic, you would know that the word Qitaal is used for Armed Jihad (fighting) in Quran.

Bao Bihari is actually correct.

People who don't know arabic would often mistakenly equate the word qitaal to the urdu word qatal derived from the same root. funny.

Re: What is your jihad.

^ do we know anything or we just born to make mistakes?

Re: What is your jihad.

We are born to learn things. We don't born knowing everything. We make mistakes because we fail to know and learn things.
