This is the 3rd time in 4 months i’ve had a harsh reaction to something
Before i always had somewhat nice skin…no problems, at least i was satisfied with it, but as of earlier this year, it’s gotten really sensitive. Maybe i’m trying alot more products now? i dont know, but i hate it!
just yesterday i asked the girl at sephora to give me a sample of dior skin creme..i used it in teh store before and nothing happend.. i swaer i think she gae me something totaly different cz i put it on today and my face is all bumpy and red and itchy. Stupid B.
Now what do I do to alleviate the itching and make it all go back to normal??? ((
You can sometimes develop sensitivity or even an allergy to products that you've used for years. Your skin/hormones etc are always changing, so your skin may indeed have become ultra sensitive.
Also - sometimes a small amount won't trigger a reaction, but a larger amount, or application to a larger area can have a reaction.
Make sure that you wash your face only with a really gentle cleanser, and try and stay away from wearing makeup if you can. Also - make sure that the moisturizer etc that you wear is fragrance free etc while you have this bumpy reaction.
If the bumpiness, itchiness etc continues, please go see your derm.
It could also be due to the weather change. Stick to one product (cleanser) and moisturizer and always clean-up u're makeup before going to bed. Skin needs to breathe..
Sara to calm the skin use aloe vera gel (keep it in the fridge) and spray chilled rosewater several times a day.
Make sure u're products dont contain alcohol..that too may irritate u're skin.
:( I know what you're talking about Sara, try and use something cool maybe to lessen the infection?
Could it be your nutrition? I don't know but speaking for myself I've never had many pimples I still don't do, however my skin is not as smooth as it used to be and I don't know whether that has to do with the fact that my current cream is really oily or whether I just eat too much fatty food?

Switch to water-based products.. johnsons cleansers are very mild..
Weather change...hormones changing...new products in your routine...food/fabric/medication/etc you may be allergic to...digestive system...etc.
You have to really watch your routine carefully and see what variations might be triggering this. I would simply stay away from all new products right now and make sure you're cleaning with a gentle face wash...Neutrogena Extra Extra Gentle Face Wash is really nice for sensitive skin. Drink lots of water too!
so is umm flaking a sign of “healing” ? :halo:
i think i have what is similar to a sunburn.. at times for no reason it stings so much. I’ve been putting so much stuff on it, Rosewater/aloevera gel/vit E lotion (all at diff times) that it hink it’ll be better just to leave it alone… Just like after fightign wtih someone :halo:
