This seems to be a plausible theory, except that Gujrat is quite far from Punjab. The stories might have traveled though.

“mai” is word I tend to use for “an elderly lady” - At least some grey hair … When speaking some say “mai-munda” to a tomboy, but I think this is a corruption of “mahi munda” …

mardon wale khel? I heard / observed / read that a girl climbing on trees was not considered good. A girl riding bicycle is still an unfamiliar phenomenon in rural Pakistan. Driving is still a taboo in certain countries and areas.

yes...tree par chaRhnaa, gilli DanDaa khelna, Cricket/football (soccer) khelnaa etc were considered 'laRkoN waale khel'.

tom boys never play with dolls, ghar ghar or do any silaaii/kaTaaii, kaRhaaii/bunaayii and lagaaii bujhaaii :D
