Stardust mentioned the hadith where the Prophet (SAW) is reported to have said that if he could have, he would have ordered women to prostrate themselves before their husbands.

I have my doubts about the veracity of this hadith, but keep in mind that scholars agree that if a hadith and Quran are in contradiction, the Quran trumps.

And there are quite a few places in the Quran where it is clearly stated that the only one who deserves any prostration or reverence is Allah SWT.

Just a thought.
