This question came to my mind afterc going through “shame on Bilawal” thread, but please mind it that my intention is not the disrespect of anyone. I am just starting the reference.
So what is the meaning of Jiye Bhutto slogan? If it means long live Bhutto, then their is no alive Bhutto present in current PPP scene. If it means long live Bhuttoism, then real Bhuttoism was some derivation of socialism, which started to prove itself to be a failure within ZAB’s lifetime.
Can we have PPP supporters of GS help us understand the philosophy behind the slogan?
There were some slogans very popular in Bhutto era ie
Bhutto aa gia medan main , Hay Jamalo
Bhutto jiay hazaron sal
Bhutto day naaray wajan gay , tay dushman saray nasan gay
and this one
**Jiay Bhutto , Sada jiay
After shahadat of BHUTTO , this one is is tribute to him**
They are much better... In hypocrisy
Papa Bhutto declared certain minority non-muslim... Mixing religion in to politics.
When MQM wanted d to try shah Je for blasphemy.... PPP cried and begged....no don't mix religion with politics Mr please dont.
LdL
it makes PPP viable in sindh and considering the thuss of PTI's march and short memories of Pakistanis, don't be surprised if PPP picks up their usual seats in punjab and some in KP. In short, they will be back to power.
There was also an opinion piece that showed that without punjab, PPP is basically a part of the poor led by rich who fool them on slogans. Though it was bad for Pakistan, but I have to say that bhutto was a master artist on how he made the poor "realize" that the middle and upper middle class were there enemies. I mean look at NFP's writings and he ain't a poor jiyala. He did it all with quota system and nationalization w/o having to fix the root causes of pakistani societal ills like no education, justice (better policing and courts), infrastructure development which also means developing resources aside from bridges and roads.

Let me try to answer. ZAB was legend in Pakistani politics, in a way he was the best politician happened to Pakistan after partition. The way he reached to common people and talked to them and sometimes listened to their grievances and solved their problems then and there. He was a person, suddenly asked his driver to stop the car, get out and go straight to paan waala. He would shake his hand and buy a paan. Paan wala never dreamed that the PM himself would come to his shop and buy a paan. After him non paki leader which included the dictators to mix in general population and chat with them. People liked him because of his work for poor, not for just empty slogans which now a days eunuch, khusray, buzdil, corrupt, rapists and I can go on and on to describe current politicians, some of them even worst then Iblis, illegitimate progeny from prostitutes.
When I look at ZAB, he seemed to be an angel as compared to these third class illegitimate politicians whose only God is paisa (mostly). He was not a person but a 'nazria' which can not die. Hence Jiay Bhutto.

Zab was no angel, and he could be just as much about empty slogans as the next guy. Lets not forget Balochistan and Bangladesh either. ZAB would rather commit atrocities than part with power.
