Faith is just like torment. god is someone who is standing in dark and watching you, he will not come how hard you shout or how deep you cry:)

indeed ruthless is one of the traits of god .
but i believe only god knows his/her ways.( prabhu ki mahima prabhu hi jane )

I believe that in bad things there are good things hidden that we may not know now.

I tell myself that all the time.

And I sort of second Kaka's opinion here indeed Allah is mercifull but he is also all powerfull.

My personal view is that I do not have a clue I am somewhat unsure of my own role let alone know about the rest of mankinds.

However I think this is all one big test.

To put us through a test.. with him making a judgement on us at the end.. either sending us to awesome heaven with sexi angels and mouth watering food... or sending us to hell where we will burn for all eternity (really god? all eternity? isnt that a bit much?)

Not unless you actually prefer the company of hellfire.

I sometimes think I am going to hell for certain, even if I am 100% clean as a whistle and good boy I still want to be in hell... becuase everyone says some of my friends are there and I want to show my loyalty to them. :)

Besides heaven is way too good for me, and hell offers much excitement since I could easily be employed there. :)

Again, its just matter of beliefs and faiths.
where i come from, i am not sure if there is a concept of hell. but i know for sure that there is no concept of judgement day.
and come on, an eternity is only 4.2 billion years. after that even gods must die to restart the cycle again.
on more serious note, we cannot even prove the existance of god, who knows what is in his/her mind.

well i believe there is a God, i will never be an atheist, until science has answers to every single mystery out there, i still need to believe in a God

but i need to know why were we put on this earth for, there has to be a higher purpose for us. it can't be a lifetime of just trying to get to the afterlife........

god doesnt need humankind, humankind needs gods, devils, heaven, hell, carrot, stick, hope, fear, reward, punishment to fill in the gaps we have in our understanding of the world we live in..

I doubt anyone knows the right answer to this one, so everyone will answer based on what his or her faith (or lack of it tells them). I consider life as a human a privilege, and a test of whether I am fit to be freed from this eternal cycle or not, because thats what my faith tells me :)
