Just heard that NWFP could be renamed as Pakhtoonkhwa-Abaseen.
What is abaseen?
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
its an area of nwfp already
Re: What is ‘abaseen’ ?
Pashtunkhwa all the way. ![]()
I don’t like the Abaseen prefix.
I don’t like Afghaniya either because Afghan doesn’t mean Pashtun anymore, it did in the past, it doesn’t today. Afghan means citizen of Afghanistan which can include Tajik, Hazarajati, Uzbek etc.
The name Afghaniya would only make the wetdreams of certain Afghans about a Loy-Afghanistan seem more true.
its an area of nwfp already
Yes, also we call the River Indus as Abaseen.
its an area of nwfp already
Which area?
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
its been a long time since ive seen it on a map, its north of peshawar, its not a town or city but an area, i think the area between charsada and mardan possibly.
its like the potohar belt, it hardly ever gets a mention on newer maps because town and city names take center stage
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
pakhtunkhwa or afghania are suitable names.
i prefer afghania because it is part of word "pakistan"
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
khyber is the best name for NWFP.
pakhtoonkhwa sounds ajeeb sa
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
only problem with khyber is that its not in nwfp
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
khyber pass hai to sahi
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
sounds good
Khyber is stupid.
If Pashtunkhwa can not have an ethnic name then neither should Punjab, Sindh or Baluchistan.
The Hindkowan living in Pashtunkhwa are our respected brothers but Hindko is a dialect of Western Punjabi and Punjabi people already have a province named after them.

nwfp mai khali pakhtun nahi rehtay bhai jan.1000 dosri ethnicitiy kay loog bhi hain.
phir app toss ker lain kai kiss ethnicity per is ka naam ho gaa.
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
^ zara 1000 ethnicities k naam tu batao
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
^mai nai bata bhi dena hai.phir na kehna
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
Well pukhtunkhwa is equally stupid. I don't understand the logic behind it. Correct me if I am wrong but the word 'khwa' means near or next to right? So pukhtunkhwa would mean near pukhtuns?
Or maybe it is some other 'khwa' the meaning of which I don't know.
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
true"khwa ajeeb saa hai".pata nai meray zahen mai kio "naswar"aa jati hai khwa sun kai.best hai NWFP rehnay dia jai

Aap ka post parr ke mere zehn mein paan aa jaati hai.
You racist piece of feces, it's because of people like you that there is no unity amongst Pakis/Muslims.
There's no need for that kind of attitude, I can say a million racist things about Punjabis and Urdudans but I wont because hopefully they're not all as retarted as you.

That is also true for Punjab, Sindh and Baluchistan.
Just like Punjabis are the majority is Punjab, Pashtuns are the majoirty in Pashtunkhwa.
Punjab has big Pashtun populations, I admit some of them have become Punjabi now but some still speak Pashto and are still Pashtun..
Baluchistan has a massive Pashtun population...
Sindh is full of Urdudans, Pashtuns, Punjabis etc.
How about:
Punjab = NEP (North Eastern Province)
Sindh = SEP (South Eastern Province)
Baluchistan = SWP (South Western Province)
Re: What is 'abaseen' ?
i agree with u nowsherwans, over-sensitivity and rejecting renaming will create mistrust in pashtuns. We have lost east bengal because we denied to them their minor demands.

Khawa also means place or corner.
