There a re a lot of threads throwing the term Zionist around, could you explain what it is/means?

Zionism is a movement founded by Theodor Herzl in 1896 whose goal is the return of Jews to Eretz Yisrael, or Zion, the Jewish synonym for Jerusalem and the Land of Israel.
The name of "Zionism" comes from the hill Zion, the hill on which the Temple of Jerusalem was situated.
Supporters of this movement are called "Zionists".
And the reason the word zionist is “thrown” around to describe the Govt. of Israel and their loyal supporters in Washington:

No, not all of them. Only those who support and justify Israel's actions against the oppressed and helpless. There are zionists and then there are zionists supporters and sympathizers.

teggy has provided an excellent responce. further to that, today the term should be extended to all those working towards or supporting the greater israel project. the new wave of zionists includes christians who would like to usher in the 'messiah' which cannot happen until greater israel is realised as per their interpretation of their religion
both groups think they can commit the most henious crimes to make greater israel and when the 'messiah' comes it will be on their side!!!!!! the messiah they think will help the evil, those who have followed the path of satan. those who killed innocents standing in their path. killed fellow believers of god and non believers alike. without doubt the followers of this ideoloogy have gone astray. their lord is now the subject of much speculation, indeed many believe they are following satan often refered to as lucifer. indeed on this form the 'messiah' they are waiting for is the anti-christ himself

So do the Muslim terrorists who attack Israel count as the oppressed and helpless in your view? What about the terrorists who attack Israel while hiding behind innocents? Or should the Muslim terrorist be allowed to attack Israel freely while Israel sits back and does nothing? What about those who support Israels right to exist in a secure fashion free from terror attacks, are they zionists?

a simplified example, i know - but its difficult to see who the bully/terror-inflicter is sometimes. i would think the bully would be the 'stronger' person, and the weaker the victim.
in the isreal/palestine issue, who is stronger?
innocent people dying is awful no matter what their creed/religion. whoever kills innocents is a terrorist in my opinion- generally ppl agree. but for some reason it seems like people define 'innocents' = 'non-muslim" these days. i say this because a person kills a muslim, and he's 'fighting the war against terror'. but if a muslim kills a non-muslim, he is a terrorist. the double standard is awful

Totally agrees. It should be both way. Your example is correct and same way if some one blow a bomb and killed innocent people in Israel or any part of the world is also terrorist.

This is just repeating falsehoods that are being used to create "hum mazloom hain" feeling among Pakistanis.
There are millions of Pakistanis living in the West, their mosques are filled to the brim, and educated Pakistanis are doing pretty darn well.
So "hum to Muslim hain" is a sorry excuse at best.
FYI. A criminal is a criminal regardless of his religion. Why do you insist on calling terrorists as Muslims? They may be Islamists because they use Quran and religion to support their version of terror but that's. But they are killed because of their "terrorist actions" and not their "faith" (unless their faith itself is to create terror).
An ordinary peace-loving, global citizen of Muslim faith has no fear to stop him doing good for the fellow human beings.

You have to put proper context to the statements. In general Pakistanis are good and so are Israelis. If on the other hand you add specific context then off course we can issue a verdict on "criminality" based on whatever evidence you want to believe in.

No one is saying look at us mazloom Muslims. jLOne was stating how the western media label the "terrorists." You 'll never hear a Christian terrorist or Jew terrorist, But when a a person who is a Muslim does something, he'll be labeled a Muslim terrorist/Islamist.
A friend of mine recently told me about this documentary on dajaal, zionists and satan wrshipers and their master plan, its on your tube and produced ny a muslim, it consists of 40- 50 episodes each about 10 minutes long, ive watched about 30 episodes, and it really is very interesting, a huge eye opener,
