what if you have great in-laws … have a close relationship with them … are friends with your SILs … and your husband-to-be is a great, genuine, loving guy .. and you can stamp on that fact …
**BUT
**some of those people who tell the future … astrologer, numerologist or whatever tell you that it ain’t gonna last …
i personally dont like to believe in these things ... and no i am not hindu ... but my dad is going through a rough patch ... so in his state of distress ... he landed with a man of the sort ... although he himself is a bigger anti-all-this-sort-of-people than perhaps even i am ... and then my father talked about me to him ... and he said it wont last :(
(this was the second person to say this)
so my dad was talking to me one day ... and told me about this ... but then also said that because we know what Islam teaches us, and know that everything is in our own hands of how we manage something ...
but then i'm like ... damn ... what about the random things that land in our life that are not in our hands :|
i am the eldest child, and the past weddings in my family have not been the prettiest ... so i guess it's just an inside fright ...
thanks all ... i just needed to throw this negative thought out of my system .. saying it out has a calming effect in itself ...
and yea ... must keep up with the duas and prayers :D
Darling, its completely haram to go to fortuntellers as we should only seek guidance from Allah (SWT). I understand that marriage is a very big step and ur wanting to make the correct decision but there are other ways.
How about doing ur istikhara and praying for signs instead. Inshallah in time, u will come to know whether this alliance is right for u or not...best of luck!
Yes u can do it urself and u may do it in the language ur most familiar with but its always best to do it in Arabic. After u have done ur two rakats (other than the compulsory ones), you recite:
'Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi'ilmika, Wa astaqdiruka bi-qudratika, Wa asaluka min fadlika al-'azim Fa-innaka taqdiru Wala aqdiru, Wa ta'lamu Wala a'lamu, Wa anta 'allamu l-ghuyub. Allahumma, in kunta ta'lam anna hadha-l-amra Khairun li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa'aqibati amri Faqdirhu li wa yas-sirhu li thumma barik li Fihi, Wa in kunta ta'lamu anna hadha-lamra shar-run li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa'aqibati amri Fasrifhu anni was-rifni anhu. Waqdir li al-khaira haithu kana Thumma ardini bihi.'
(O Allah! I ask guidance from Your knowledge, and Power from Your Might and I ask for Your great blessings. You are capable and I am not. You know and I do not and You know the unseen. O Allah! If You know that this job is good for my religion and my subsistence and in my Hereafter then You ordain it for me and make it easy for me to get, and then bless me in it, and if You know that this job is harmful to me in my religion and subsistence and in the Hereafter then keep it away from me and let me be away from it. And ordain for me whatever is good for me, and make me satisfied with it)
Then u mention what ur seeking guidance for. If you don't get 'signs' or 'feelings' after the first reading, this may be repeated.
