I kept telling my son when I was expecting my daughter, that challo Allah se dua mangain ke woh aap ko piyari si behn day dain... and he used to pray with me.. then I told him ke Allah se dua mangtay hain phir Allah miyan baby ko hospital bhaij dain gay, aur mommy ja ke le ke aien gi.

and if my boy asks me why didnt we have a daughter... i will say duaghters were expensive we didnt have enough money...
and if my daughter asks me i will simply say boys were expensive at that time and we didnt have enough money..

I think honesty is the best policy, and always to use the amount of honesty that the child can handle at their current age. A 3-year old will be content with "babies come from Mommy's tummy when Mommy and Daddy love each other very much". A 13-year old will get more of the details. Parents know their children and what they can handle....just use your judgement and dont try to hide too much from them, they need to know about the life cycle.

My daughter asked me this question and it wasn't a shocking, nervewracking moment. It was just one of those opportunities to teach her something. We started with the idea that I prayed to Allah and he blessed me with a baby in my tummy. Beyond this she didn't ask too many questions. I think the best way to handle it is to be honest and not tell more than the child asks to know.

My oldest daughter asked my husband this question when she was younger. He was really flustered and told her that it was such a special question that we would save it for mommy. My son looked at him, started laughing, and said "baba doesn't know the answer!"

[size=2]oh, it reminded me of when i was lil, i used to ask my mom and she would alwys tell me; that when mom goes to the hopsital while she’s asleep, allah sends an angle with the baby to lay beside the mother-and ofcourse i belived:cb: . though, i alwys wondered why mohters go to hopsital all the times why can’t dad go sometimes, ifigured it out-now:D
i personally belive you dun need to tell your kids from where and how did they come, they dont need to know. just make up a cute story and they will belive:blush:[/size]
