I was just thinking the other day..

what if you end up having a very very very simple wedding…by that i mean

only the two immediate family members..lets say 30-40 people.. there were lots of guests but the other than my family, his family, and some relatives, i didn’t know them so it was 30-40 to me.
Only simple clothes [normal party wear..nothing designer or bridal kaam wala jora]** the clothes were fancy but not a bridal**
No big hall booked tick
No grand feast tick
No jewellery transfers** just our rings and the small set i was wearing from his side**
No Suits/Joras transfers tick (i gave his mum a suit though and some jewellery)
No Jahaiz tick
No Bari/Vari tick
No movie/professional photography tick (my brother took the photos)

basically its just like anyother family get together…

1.)What will be the extent of emotional and psychologicala trauma that you will face??

Put yourself** into that position…what will be your feelings??

and

**2.)what if all the money that was to be spent for the things i mentioned, is given to the couple so that they can begin their new life??

I did not face any trauma. In fact, as someone who is always organising things for once it was nice for something to happen in my life where I didn’t care how it was happening, just that it happened. The year leading up to it, was in the GS Bridal forum all the time, so I was concerned with my outfit, the hall, finding a photography etc; it’s not like I didn’t care. I thought I would want a reception in the UK later on but I didn’t! I was happy enough with that in the end.

I’m still waiting to see that money! But nah, I’m definitely glad my parents weren’t burdened with paying for all the bells and whistles since I don’t think it would have made much difference to my happiness. I’m sure his parents feel the same.
