If my parents import a husband for me from Pakistan, chances are he won't be able to work right away anyway. I'll be supporting him, regardless of what he wants. Too many desi men have an ego though and don't like the idea of a woman supporting them.

what could be some of the reasons a man asks his wife to work, while she does not want to, other than needing cash?
oh and also how many MEN would still wanna work if they didnt need the cash?

^ maybe he believes his wife's got potential.
Or then again, maybe he believes it will be for the good of both of them if she works. And he'll have his reasons.

I would. After I graduated, the only work I could get was a 3-month summer internship. After I was done with that, the company said they could not hire me immediately, but would definately hire me later in the year, and that if I wanted to work for them I shouldn’t go getting a job anywhere else.
So I sat around at home all day (all my friends were woroking or at university) watching movies, playing games, went shopping, etc etc etc etc. I didn’t need any cash because my intnernship had paid well enough to cover my needs.
After 3 weeks of that I was going insane. I was relieved when the company called me and told me I could start working for them.
Having a job at least gives you something to do. Life gets very boring without thatl.

What if its her job to review bollywood movies hmmm? Or she’s a gossip columnist n she gets paid to gossip or she’s a food tester or food critic.. Don’t judge!

I’ve been working while my husband has been looking for a different job. He did part time consulting work for a while from home, and now wants to switch companies.
It’s worked out fine.
