so did you find the reasoning behind that why the use of illicit drugs is forbidden in Islam, or in your language "taboo in society"?
Too many bad drivers lets ban the car mentality.
a person who has strong will power can say that, do you have that?
I think I do have strong will power as I have given up smoking.
what about alcohol, does it give u new life?
(you can wait for another 10 years and post the reply of this)
Excess of everything is bad including halal things eg beef.
were you in Pakistan, or somewhere else when you started drinking? and was it illegal in that region where you live to drink at that age? how did you get access of it?
I grew up in Dubai, back in those days there were no checks and balances, now theres an age limit of 21 and they are very strict about it. Its allowed to buy liquor in night clubs.
and also how did u get access to those drugs?
During vacations in Pakistan and studying in UK. It was just experimentation. I say it was just a part of growing up.
and one important question, how did your parents reacted when they found out about you being involved in all these activities?
Mom was furious about smoking but shes cool now because I have stopped. If she knows about drinking, she has never mentioned.
why do people say this (what you wrote) for drinkers then? if you think they are all jokes, then you should be happily give to children as well
Everyone has their own reason, you should ask to the people who say these things, not me. Why I should be happy to give anything to anyone. Shouldn't everyone be given their own chances to find a hobby which gives them happiness. Why do you have this urge to decide for other people.
ps. if you are exception, and i also believe you are blessed otherwise it is not hard to be carried away with these things...what ya say am i right?
I am not an exception but I am blessed. Let me tell you another thing, thanks God all my friends are successful drinkers/nondrinkers except one who is a non smoker and non drinker. Now I am not implying that his failure is because of his non smoking and non drinking. My point is personal successes and failures has nothing to do with your hobbies if you know your limits and dont loose sight of your goals.
Okay so you would let your children join this hobby.....
And how do you give free choice to your children in religion? By not teaching them about religions?
I teach my children about the religion I follow and also other religions.....once they grow up they are free to choose the way?
I am giving them access to all kind of information which agrees with their respective ages. The point is to remain neutral until and unless it threatens their safety. BTW my wife is doing the religion thing with them. I teach them logic. So I think both areas are covered.
Its good that you are teaching your children the religion you are following and about the other religions as well. BUT are you being neutral in doing so? or are you at the same time pushing them only in one direction? I am no one to judge but as I am seeing your posts for so long now I doubt that you can stay neutral in the matter of religion but then again I might be wrong and you might be a totally different person in real life.
