I think I do have strong will power as I have given up smoking.
perhaps it was easy for u to give up cuz u werent into it very much to begin with?

*Smoking for me started as a time killer, when I was in my teens I had friends who were smokers but the thing never appealled me, so I never picked up the habbit. when I started working (and my work takes me to the most weirdest/isolated places on the earth) I started smoking just to kill time at the age of 24. But realised after 10 years if I do not quit sooner its going to kill me, so I am a smoker no more. Still I go for sheesha once in a while but habitul smoking is out.

The one thing that was 'taboo' and prolly appealed to u the most was the drinking ... and the fact that u most likely dont drink infront of ur mom or at least dont make a public announcement of it in front of her as u did with the smoking keeps giving u that 'edge' u need??
Just a thoought and observation I made ... I'm not here to judge ... Allah swt knows best ...
