Every house has it’s own smell. Some just smell neutral and I know of some people whose houses have a very bad nauseating smell 
People are used to the air in their own house, that they cant smell it anymore. But as an outsider you smell it right away.

we ventilate quite obsessively for odors to not stick around.
the smell can be attributed to the wallflowers and other stuff that are all over, and they change by season.

^ Daily ventilation is definitely a must.
I recently visited a family I know, and their was this really bad penetrating smell in their house; a mix of pee and smelly feet :/ it really bothered me the whole time I was there.
I wonder, can people really not smell it if their house stinks badly...

People should be able to smell when they come home from outside. 
I smell my home when I am cooking, that is not good. So after I finish cooking I ventilate it and make sure it doesn’t stink much, but TBH our maslaas smell is really really strong.

I always open windows while cooking, plus the airventilation is always on, and I keep a candle with a nice fragrence next to the stove. You don’t smell anything afterwards.

I always open my balcony in day time last week weather was good I kept it open whole evening n finally before sleeping I didn’t closed improperly sandstorm came n the next morning I just woke up bc of tht sand smell all over my house

upstairs = fish
basement = driftwood and sand soya candle :)
how do u guys handle our clothes that smell when you go to someone's home? how to get rid of it?

I leave my clothes out in the balcony to let them air out... And coats too..
Our apt sucks big time...leaving the window open works against us cuz it causes the smell to work through our apt... Especially if its a windy day!
I shut the door to the kitchen...cook... Leave the turbo fan running on full speed for an hour after cooking...and then light a lemon candle ... It does the trick.
Ppl need to learn to make their washrooms smell good too... There is this one house that smells like someone just exloded in their... I have a baby thats on a really smelly formula and even our washroom smells better!

Talking about house smells, few years ago we were in the market as a buyer. Our agent took us to a house for showing. First of all an uncle ji asked us to take our shoes off before entering. The house was reeking of agar batti scent. Oh my god, it was so nauseating that you just wanted to throw up. Some people are so idiot that they dont know that less is more when it comes to strong fragrance.

Apartments sometimes have bad architectrial design and not much emphasis is put on windows, natural light and air circulation. Its difficult to keep your apartment always smelling like fresh meadow when you are cooking regularly and have a teeny tiny apartment with just one window in the living room. But there is no excuse for a stinky apartment or house.
Beside good ventilation, make sure you don’t have dirty laundry piling up. If possibel keep shoes and socks outside.
After taking a hot shower open your window or let the exhaust fan running so moisture can dry out.
Make sure to empty out your garbage every other day if not daily. Use baking soda to eliminate odors wherever possible. I just leave out jars of baking soda in kitchen and bathroom cabinets.

^LOL, aren’t they suppose to not let the odor out? I don’t have any experience with diaper genies so I don’t know but you are right it make sense to get rid of poopy diapers ASAP.

If you want to fully utilize them (which you should, cause that is the purpose), you would end up stuffing them with about 20 diapers, one diaper at a time off course. Although you wrap each diaper individually, its not a fail proof design and smell leaks.

That is what you think to outsider it will smell like a fragrant masala , more like a vanila qorma , or rose flavor nihari, or strawberry biryani. 
We stop by at a rent a dress store and change into a rented tux.

My house smells like food. I know it does. I don’t know what to do about it because if I open windows…my parents get mad. They think we will get robbed right away. 
I open the windows in my room everyday, keep a fan around for ventilation, door closed at all times, always zip out of the house as soon as I get ready because I have to pass through the kitchen on my way out.
