You mean if there is smell of food in them? Just close the bedroom doors and kitchen door while cooking, and open window, they wont be smelling then :k:

That is what you think to outsider it will smell like a fragrant masala , more like a vanila qorma , or rose flavor nihari, or strawberry biryani.

Talking about house smells, few years ago we were in the market as a buyer. Our agent took us to a house for showing. First of all an uncle ji asked us to take our shoes off before entering. The house was reeking of agar batti scent. Oh my god, it was so nauseating that you just wanted to throw up. Some people are so idiot that they dont know that less is more when it comes to strong fragrance.

We went viewing a house last month too. The owners asked us too take off our shoes and their house had this very bad nauseating aggarbatti smell too
Plus they were cooking and the whole house was damp and smelly. They were Hindu, btw.

My house smells like food. I know it does. I don’t know what to do about it because if I open windows…my parents get mad. They think we will get robbed right away.

I open the windows in my room everyday, keep a fan around for ventilation, door closed at all times, always zip out of the house as soon as I get ready because I have to pass through the kitchen on my way out.

When I get desperate...I boil a pot of water with cinnamon and orange peels. That helps A LOT.

How do u open all the windows in the winter? I tried it. It gets so cold and heat bill would go up tremendously.

Uuuffoo, you don't open all the windows, just a couple in front of the house and couple in the back so air can pass through the inside the house take the desi odor with it. 10 15 minutes is enough.

My house smells of nothing ness. Mainly because it is empty and we don't cook as we eat at the other house. So, all I do is sleep at this house. Lol

I don't think so.

I use strong smelling shampoo/conditioner/shower gels/lotions/perfume. Not too strong but enough.

Its a ritual every morning for me lol

I was talking about when you go to someone's house for a dawat or something and their house reeks of salan and by the time u go home, the smell has permeated into your clothes.

what to do? usually i would lay them flat on the floor and let it air out overnight.

would Fabreeze help?

and what's worse is living on a desi street. At around 5-6 o'clock the whole street reeks of salan. Woudl need a gas mask to get from the car to the front door.

Afshi...I gave an aunti an outfit to sew for me. When she gave it back...it reeked...and I mean REEKED so badly of salan that I have never been able to get it out. I cannot wear it despite having dry cleaned it. I dont know what she did to it...dipped it in her handi when she was cooking???

I'd love an answer to this too :(

Thats sound weird .Never happened to us.
Yeah sometimes I can smell the aroma of paulo or biryani being cooked but in a nice way and it never gets into clothes or anything.
