Whenever people say the word "yaar" I envision some cafe in some pakistani school/university with a buncha skinny guys in skinny jeans and button down fitted shirt and long zulfein-like hair having chai and casually touching each other whilst saying: "yaar, aaj class jane ka mood nahin ho raha hai..."
i say that too:hmmm: like quiet often
mom used to tell me girls dont look good saying that

? I hear it a lot when I go to pakistan. No one in my family uses it or people that I know personally, but mostly men on the streets and busses or shops, and gupshup ofcourse...is it supposed to be like 'bro.'?
Its the same in india. They use "biru" and we use "yaar"
when you wanna flatter someone and make your job done. You use something like "Mera kaam kerdo yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrr"

i just assume yaar is the desi version of mate… i never realised that ‘yaar’ is frowned upon…me n my hubz use it alot…
