**i’ll write the she’r in proper roman urdu:
ra’ees-e-shahr ne tohmat lagaaii hai mujh par, “SaaHil!”
yeh shaKhs dard kii daulat ko aam kartaa hai
ra’ees-e-shahr = the town’s rich man [also meansMayor]
tohmat = allegation
i think in the second misr’a [line] one syllable is missing.
the poet’s pen-name is SaaHil…so, Mr. SaaHil is revealing to his folks that the the rich man of the city [Mayor] is spreading falsehood by alleging me for being the one who spreads pain and sufferings on general public [by pretence of claims of false love]…he says the mayor himself is doing that instead.
ra’ees e shahr could also mean the King! :)**
