What does religous folks say about this..

This is so bizarre.. i found this few weeks ago in
holy Quran -
**Surat An - Nahl ( V.16:112 ) . Narated by Ibn Abbas ( swt ) - The prophet said . " I was shown the hell fire and majority of its dwellers were women who were dis-believers or ungrateful. " He was asked Do they disbelieve in Allah ( or ungrateful to Allah ) - he replied " They are ungrateful to their husbands and are un - grateful for the favors & the good ( charitable deeds) done to them. If you have always been good to one of them for a period of time then she sees some thing in you. She will say " I have never seen any good from you " … said the prophet .. ( pbuh ) ..
..
This is such a SAD hadeeth. I mean i thought it would be men who would be
blamed for being un-grateful… i guess we do really need to read & educate
ourselves..

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

That hadith is so true.

Sad are those who have a problem with this hadith.

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

And what about the men who are disbelievers and ungrateful for their weives?

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

^ they go to hell fire too.

What people fail to realize is that Islam gives more liberty to women as well. For eg, a wife can sit back and chill all day, and she will not be held accountable for anything. She is not required to cook for the husband, or to clean his house, or to take care of his parents. And the husband cannot force her to do all that work. If she's working the money she earns is her money, and she can keep it to herself if she wants to, and she has right on the husband's money too.

The only thing she's required to do is raise kids, thats it. Everything else is the husband's job.

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

by the way you don't have to post it in every forum

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

not only being ungrateful, its the back-biting habit of women that will be the major cause of landing them in hell....

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

^ exactly what i tell any potential husband or ristha i get :cb:
SubhanAllah the liberties we get in Islam…i love being a Muslimah!!

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

:k:

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

The reason brothers and sisters this hadith specifies the women in that category is not because Islam defames women, or degrades women.

IT's the fact that many women who disobey Allah, commit sins of gossip (also men), but mainly a lot of women do not watch out for that, and they are lazy in performing their salat or making up the missed ones.. and reasons like that.

From that hadith the person should take a great lesson from it. Every sister, every wife, and ever husband should be concerned to protect himself and his family from disobeying Allah in any way.

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

Listen to the Allama's here parading their misogyny. How easily do they forget that they were all brought into this world by a woman!

What kind of shameless ignorants would think so low of their own mother(s)?

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

Sir, could you please provide references to support these things.

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

Do all these allama's include the person that is the originator of this hadith???

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

proves what i've been saying all along that women are evil.:)

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

So women tend to be ungrateful and have the habit of back-biting. Does anyone see how inherently sexist and patriarchal that is? Is this to keep women in line? However sinful these traits may be (which are incorrect, sexist stereotypes), how many other traits do men tend to have which are surely more serious sins?

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

yet another example of why hadeeth should not be considered infallibale...

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

How about Quran...

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

Alot of people here start scrutinizing one hadeeth as if it were the only hadeeth. Go out and educate yourrselves about other hadeeths and then, maybe, your comments would be a bit more educated. Also the hadeeth never said that the majority of women are ungrateful and have the habit of back biting. What it said was ( The majority of the dewellers of the hell fire will be women who were "disbelievers or ungrateful" ) . Nowhere does it say all women are like that, what it does say is that the ungrateful will be in the fire... and then the Prophet (p.b.u.h) gave an example of what this woman might be like.

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

lol…I am ungrateful to my wife…
so she tells me everyday… :bailan:

no joking about the hadeeth though…
true so true :k:

I agree with Sharabi, Ahmed _G 's commentary…

And

PAkiAbroad…
who said that we are :smilestar: defaming women or our mothers…
nobody said that :smilestar: to you or any one…

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

who knows where this story came from? Since it doesn't jive with what's in the Qur'an.. I don't even have to waste my time trying to find out.. It's obviously yet another fake in a huge list of falsities attributed to the Prophet..

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

hmmm makes me think of a recent example of a women who led the Juma prayer. Come to think of the hadith no doubt the hadith is so true.
