What does religous folks say about this..

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

I hope you know, wht the Bible comments about women. Well sticking on to the topic.
Well dont women speed up the testosterone, of men get into logical terms. Well its the women, who has to keep her chastity. No doubt the men in Quran in Surah noor 30 have been warned to lower there gaze.Well, in the west women are nothing but s*x objects. Compare the same with the Quran, it gives them Honour.

Patriarchal you must be joking, well you know whats happening in the west because of this very issue. Well, this hadith is an admonition and remember this does not account to only Muslim women, in general its women.

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

Presumably, you don't believe in Hadiths...

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

hey if we want to go on tangents..how about websters dictionary? how about yellow pages?

we are talking hadeeth here. and hadeeth is not quran. I think that is pretty well known innit?

Dude, if you want to talk about the supeiority of Islam, the immoral values of the West or Biblical verses, open a thread.

I am responding to this thread which quotes the prophet as saying most dwellers of hell are women which is absolutely ridiculous and gives all the justification for postsers like PakistaniAbroad need to point out the fallacy of using hadith as infallible words of the prophet or absolute truths. This is obviously culturally based and not something the prophet would have said.

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

Seminole .. your last sentence is telling. I mean sometimes i wonder if a non muslim gets it and feels that this is something that the prophet would not have said, why dont some muslims get it..

I am all for hadeeth, but always with a grain of salt..thousands were tossed out earlier as being false, and it does not mean that the remaining ones are authentic or have not been changed or added to by the chain of narrators, or whether it really came from the narrator it is attributed to, let alone the prophet himself.

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

Oh I believe the Prophet did talk to his folks and yes some may have retained something of importance here and there from him.. who wouldn't.. but it'll take a lot of convincing for me to take what we're offered today in the form of hadith as some sort of Shariah.. I wouldn't base my religion on unsubstantiated rumors.

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

Why is this hadeeth so often singled out to describe womeN? As if women are the only ones who backbite? As if men are perfect?

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

how about the bit where women were created from the mans rib all curved and therefore women cannot be controlled

Re: What does religous folks say about this..

I thought hadeeth were separate from Quran?
