hmmm…funny you call the past “barbaric” when today human race has developed the most destructive weapons ever and still proliferating. Also you’re challenging the concept of reward and punishment, if you’re idea of people have developed the social morals and they have become totally aware of right and wrong, is correct then there shouldn’t be exist any prisons/laws.

Good point about the weapons. Ideally we’d be living in a war free world. But this doesn’t change the fact that modern society has morality embedded in it. A lot of the “10 commandments” example are nothing but common sense today. This doesn’t mean that there will be NO CRIME. The prison/laws example is hence invalid.

There are alwyas going to be idiots who bend the rules. The answer still shouldn’t be manipulating people with lies and scaring them into being good.
