If your friend or relative told you that they go to a chatroom everyday or very often, would you think something about them? Would you think they are time-wasters, losers or loners or weird or need a life or probably have no friends in real life, perhaps bored, or what? Do you assume things about people who are found to be on chat regularly? Do you think they seek attention they dont get in real life? If someone told you theres a guy/girl they know who goes online to chat very often, would you think thats odd behavior?
I am not talking about if you have work colleagues or you interact with students at your school online. I am talking about chatting with complete strangers in a Pakistan chat for example.
Do you think its unhealthy behavior? Would you want your kids to do it? What would you do if your relatives/brother/sister did that on a very regular basis? Would you tell them its not right?

Most people would go online and talk to strangers just to be able to get an unbiased point of view/opinion/piece of advice about something they have on their mind.
I guess it's easier to talk to "strangers" at times simple because they are strangers and not in your face/life otherwise.
It's not really abnormal behaviour as long as it is not done with a feeling of compulsiveness. Anything done in excess is not healthy. Although there may be exceptions to this too.

Its fun, its passes time, its a interesting to learn about new people, but youve also got to remember that its also that unpleasant people can take advantage especially the anonimity.
Personally Id be concerned if younger members of family /friends ...id keep an eye on them...ie under 20
Older ones should have more life experience and SHOULD be able more discerning

Yaa, ofcourse its not a healthy activity , Par again its a good passing time and have fun , U want to intereact with ppl , .....par before tht , do precisely decide ur certain limits , upto tht , u have to interact with others ......these limits r really important..Otherwise , always u be the losers...

Communication is always healthy. And, in a way, GS is a form of "chatting", the only differences are that the format is slightly different and that it dosen't occur in Real-time.

I say this as an aside lazy, an aside from your comments Barfee. But I am incredulous to stumble across people who talk in absolutes who have fixed views on the world (like I did) - how can anyone suppose that things "ought" to be a certain way and that things are not intangiably complicated for other individuals. I had assumed it was a naivity associated with age - however it doesnt seem to be the case.
In my humble opinion things are never "right", never "wrong" and I rarelythink anything.
If you are asking me munni what would pass through my mind if someone told me that. Truthfully it would be the sentiments ok "ok". Besides who cares what guppies think. most of the newbies are oldies, we're all geeks up in this joint. You'd be better off asking random adults on the street or in a club / somthing.
