In economy, security, foreign relationship, internal politics or overall life standard of people etc.

Pick at least one item to answer.

1- Better.

2- Same.

3- Worse

Give at least one reason to back up your position.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

Going by past trends things will get better there will be ups and downs and to observes the more things chaange the more they stay the same.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

**If our Leaders continue in corruption, I am sure it'll be worst in future

Allah Pakistan ki Hifazt krey
Aameen**

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

10 years is a long time to predict.....5 years difinetly worse.....10 years...may b same..

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

We have been asking this question from past 60 years, and so far zilch has changed. Then we go and vent against our "leaders"! Until we learn that every individual Pakistani is somehow responsible for the state we are in, NOTHING will change.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

I disagree. People of Pakistan need to realize that they are the root of corruption, we need to stop passing the blame. We need to stop being corrupt before we can blame others. Removing NS, Zardari or Altaf Hussein is not going to cut it for us if we don't change ourselves first. If we stop being sifarishi, under-the-table deals, paying line man for phone/kunda things will get better. We need to stop being selfish. We need to stop thinking of getting rich overnight.

Exactly, we need to stop feeding the corrupt.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

That's sooo true. Unfortunately.

I read a book where author was predicting future of different regions and countries. He put Pakistan in the same category as Afghanistan and Tajikistan. He also could not see any hope for Pakistan.

By the way, I am not delighted when saying this. I wish something changes. But predictions are based on current and past situations only. And in case of Pakistan, most indicators point in the wrong direction.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

Gauging Pakistans's success from its future economic growth, foreign policy ( including the long-standing issue of kashmir), terrorism, political progress etc the future does look bleak. We dont have any prudent economic policy yet, especially when sectors such as education and health, which are the building blocks of economic success, are sidelined i dont see Pakistan going anywhere in terms of economic growth. Short term boosts to the economy like the post 9/11 era which witnessed a surge in remittances etc and writting off of debt do not account for long-term success.

Our foreign policy isnt going anywhere as well, especially when the issue of Kashmir is in a deadlock. Army would continue to adopt a hardline approach with India which means little room for negotiating with India on the issue. Terrorism has crept into Pakistan and unfortunately pakistan simply does not have to means to eradicate it and it will continue to haunt Pakistan for quite some time. The present government has been censured for their inefficiency and corruption and yet again people saw the return of the army as an option. Anyhow, politics in pakistan is highly unstable and people would continue to look at it askew.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

until India and Pakistan reunite, both countries will remain poor with India with India getting a bit better and Pakistan getting a bit worse than now. Because we have still not come out of outsider's divide and conquer play.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

^^ :omg:

bhutto never supported Ayub Khan…Epic

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

1- Better.

bcoz i m coming back to Pak for supporting my own party :omg:

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

That's fine.. lets call it greater Pakistan. After-all name doesn't matter for "good wishers" for greater good or does it?

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

**You are not that stupid are you? Read my post again. After 1965 war he had developed severe differences with Ayub Khan and left the post of foreign minister. He founded PPP in 1967 and beaten many times by police during speaches and processions by the Ayub Khan regime. Perhaps you were not born. Ask your parents what I am talking about if you were not born but don’t behave like a dumbo.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

I really don't care what it is called but obviously you call it India or Pakistan, the other side won't be happy. Just find a new name.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

The day PPP starts promoting merit within itself they might gain some respect from me but all they want to do is stick to the name 'Bhutto', then all PPP can get from me is bhutta.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

Regardless of who is in power. When the system is dysfunctional at all levels it is very difficult to govern where even the basic necessities of life are scarce to find and buy. No management structure whatsoever. Yes, we can be optimistic and wish the best for our beloved country but at the same time their is no sense of accountability of any institution or checks and balances. Sometimes one wonders how it is being kept afloat.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

Will get better, and then worse again. Then it will get better, and then will get worse.

A really sick ride this is.

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

I can tell you that... in the days of when NS was thrown out of power and military took over, i myself witnessed the change in the all public sectors i visited... though they moved back to corruption because mushy was corrupt as well... but how can you stop corruption if you have the most corrupt man as president of your country? and 2nd most corrupt man is the next would-be prime minister??? unlike other things, the virus of corruption is top-down approach...

The last decades of Great Ottoman Empire, the ministers, the prime-minister and even the CALIPH himself was corrupt, they use to sell important positions in exchange of DONATIONS and we all know what happened there.. same was the case with Mughal Empire.. .

To remove corruption, we need to remove these symbols of corruption from power... who appoint the corrupt persons and/or run the ministries as corporations, where each ministry have a monetary target to achieve... look at Ministry of Electricity, now tell me what kind of fool would do such expensive rental power agreement? Look at ministry of Railways! look at PIA, look at the ministry of Agriculture and food!!! all the heads of these ministries and institutes are bound to make corruption... Steel Mill which had excess funds is about to get bankrupt... in these circumstances... one cannot say that, KUNDA system and/or money under the table is some kind of hobby for this nation rather it is some kind of tax, a corruption tax which the people are bound to pay to live...

Re: What do you see Pakistan as in next 10 years?

^^ i second that!
