sister sherrish, this is an ancient pagan practice stemming from the belief that some of your soul escapes if you sneeze. do you really want to follow these sorts of practices?

Otherwise I say: Bless you!

Would we stop praying if somebody is offended? NO, never, then why would somebody care for an atheist if we add any connotation after sneeze if he’ll get offended or not. As a proud Muslim I say Alhamdulillah and amazed to see above comments that somebody is saying it’s pagan practices.

The question in the title of the thread is asking about what you say to others when they sneeze. What it has to do with you stop practicing your religion? You are not suppose to say salaam to a non Muslim. Are you not practicing your religion if you don’t do that? So if you don’t say yarhamukullah (which any way is only to be said in reply if alhamdulillah) are you abandoning your religion?
