Maybe what you consider simple and plain isnt as easy and simple for your friend.
People have different lifestyles, responsibilities and priorities.

Politely remind them again , if they still not willing to doit …. Just forget and never ask again ..
And don’t hold the grudge against them .. Baba duniya hai …hota hai ….chaltah hai

I did remind. I'll just wait and see.
I guess sometimes expectations are greater than they should be. And like Adra said, maybe what seems simple to me may not be as simple for someone else.

Niskik why dont you just address the situation with the person bluntly but in a nice manner.
Like 'hey listen you know the thing I asked you to do, I know you are busy and stuff but you think you will have time to do it or do you know someone else who'd be able to do it for me.
That way you'd find out whats keeping them from doing so.
such frankness should be permitted among friends and you did say she is a friend.
Im a lousy friend to people who know me cause between home and work I never have any time for anyone else. Not that I dont wanto make time, its just that I dont have time.

yeh being frank is the key.if you are not frank nuff with someone that u can ask them for a favour, then you should not be asking them a favour, or if u asked you should not have high expectations.
The real challenge occurs when you are someone who tries to help people and then get bombarded with requests :D

I only do things to help ppl. i construct voodoo dolls as requested and then practisce accupuncture on them. like you will be walking in the mall and all of a sudden u will be like ohhhh my backpain is gone..well..you can thank me for that.
