As far as thanking Allah, same here. Some people may find me good looking while others may find me not-so-good-looking, but the truth is that I personally think I am average - More towards the lower end of average.

so anyway...

The other day I went to the store and the cashier had an amputated left arm. The entire time I found myself sneaking a glance or two at it even though I tried so hard not to....in fact deep down inside I didnt even want to look at it. Not because I was disgusted by it but because I felt this sense of guilt, sorrow and a hold bunch of other feelings that I can't even begin to explain.

On my 10 min drive back home I kept thinking about that lady and her arm and it brought tears to my eyes (no exaggeration here). I thought to myself that that could be me. I have some nerve to sit here and complain about so many trivial things.....my hair, my eyes, my body.....and here is this woman without a limb. How must she feel when she looks into the mirror?

Alhamdulillah Allah (SWT) has blessed me with eyes that can see, a mouth that can utter words, ears that can hear and a body with organs that is functional. What more do I need? What more could I ask for? Alhamdulillah for all that I have.

I would've joked around like this in cafe or images, but I am serious here :p I know some people have confidence and they really know what they look like. I, on the other hand, am grateful to Allah that I have a healthy body but at the same time I really don't think that I am all high up there. I don't know, I guess others can tell better :-/

Thank you!!! Yahi mein kahney ki koshish kar raha hoon. Before marriage, others used to tell me or show me that I am good looking, after marriage, that business died!

I usually avoid looking at the mirror whenever possible. As a victim of below average looking, it feels like living with a curse. It takes a lot more effort to boost self confidence and self esteem especially in public.
While its true that we should be thankful for not being disabled or deformed like some are, but not having the proper looks makes you feel handicapped in most situations in everyday life.

Shukar-alhamdolillah i am happy with what Allah has given me.

From the way people compliment me, i have gathered that i am definetly well above-average because there are many females i know who are very envious of me and want to copy me in style/manners but havent had much luck so far.

I presume people who have not been blessed with 'average' or 'above average' looks, tend to focus on all their bad points / negative things i.e. a big nose, and maybe even compare themselves to someone who they envy, thinking why they couldnt have adopted the same feature or something. I am not generalising and hope i didnt offend anyone with my opinion.

ahem…i think girls still find you attractive…u know i keep my eyes open when we go out…:woho:

and to answer the thread…i think everybody thinks they are pretty in one way or another…i mean i dont want to sound mean but i know this girl who is average looking but she thinks she is Miss Universe…always degrading others and praising herself…sometimes it amazes me…but what can you say its her own judgment :smiley:

I don't know what ugly people think, but I am very sure good looking people think "I AM SO UGLY, I WISH I LOOKED LIKE THAT ONE ACTOR"

You said it sooooo well Angel yes.May Allah Mian make all of us think about that.It still doesnt seize to amaze me that we keep on thinking about our tiny littl worlds that we are always so consumed with, and forget about those people who have less then you. This life in itself is a gift that Allah Mian gave us, and each of us has the power to make a change, no matter how small or big but we should consider ourselves conductors of change. This outward appeearance that we have can chane can change in an a split secnd but what we bring to this world through our inner self will not and should not change.So what we are not the beauty queen/king , so what we dont have a billion dollar…in this ever increasing world of increasing 'wants" we may be behind..but this life is given once and can make a difference in the time we exist.
Now Im going on and on..I should have wrote it in my blog:cb:
