Re: What do people mean by “Please don’t quote?”
I have had this long grudge against Mr. Slims.

Re: What do people mean by “Please don’t quote?”
As for the fine point post, I realized my post may have “indirectly quoted” one hard to decipher dude who does not like to be quoted - even indirectly as I learnt to my chagrin recently. So deleted my post to keep my indecipherable buddy happy.
How about that Market?
Re: What do people mean by “Please don’t quote?”
You talkin to me?
You talkin to ME?
Re: What do people mean by “Please don’t quote?”
Re the “circular or pointless” debates, glad to have the opportunity to address that. Here r my core positions that may result in circular or pointless debates
Secular don’t mean anti religion. It simply means equal rights for all citizens to pratise what each believes in - any religion agnostic atheist etc.
All citizens deserve equal rights regardless of faith color creed or sexual orientation
Marriage equality for ALL
Climate change is real. And we need to pratise the 3 R’s. Reduce Reuse recyle. In addition to the other 3 r’s of course - reading riting rithmetic
You can’t be a proponent for pluralism in a region where u r a minority and proponent for majority’s faith being law in a region where u r a majority
Corollary - pluralism doesn’t apply only to all religions. But to agnostics atheists and various orientations as well.
Religion based laws are not fair to those that are from different religions or are agnostic or atheists. Yes this one has led me into a few circular or pointless arguments. My bad.
A liberal is one who ensures minority rights even if he/she has to give up something for this to happen. Yes this also has led to several circular arguments
Tech stocks are cyclical. At peak earnings their valuation looks Deceptively cheap. And vice versa at trough earnings.
Proper asset allocation and rebalancing coupled with low cost index funds is a good way to beat 75 pct of investors.
Creationism is a matter of faith. And don’t belong in education curriculum at any level. Boy this one is a perfect circle when it comes to arguments
Don’t leave gap between bat and pad.
Please quote.
How to not be taken seriously 101.
Re: What do people mean by “Please don’t quote?”
Never did care whether folks I don’t know take me seriously. There are some here who are good Internet friends. And I do care how they view me.
So buzz off.
Take a chill pill dude.
If you can find me anything relevant (to this thread) in your last post I will take back what I said.
Good for you and your friends lol
Re: What do people mean by “Please don’t quote?”
I don’t need advice from you re what pill I should take. I don’t care whether you take anything back or not. That’s all I got to say “dude” . So leave me alone. Or not.

Re: What do people mean by “Please don’t quote?”
lol this thread was fun to read. Slims rocks!
In addition to what’s already been said, here are a couple more reasons:
they are by nature not argumentative and might see quoting as the start of a never ending argument hence the ghussa at being invited to continue the argument they never wanted to be a part of (i.e. they are regretting posting in the first place). I would be angry too if diwana suddenly quoted my post. Just saying.
said person is particularly sensitive and might view the quoting as “being picked on”. Perhaps this person was just giving their input on a topic without addressing anyone in particular and questioning their views. It’s only fair to expect the same in return.
said person has a busy schedule and the post was meant to be a one-time contribution. Who has the time to keep returning to the same thread especially when the thread has run its course?
said person is annoyed because GS keeps giving multiple notifications and when you’ve already read the comment in the thread (because you refreshed the page or you read the “news feed”) it’s annoying to have to click on quote notification just to get rid of that “1 new notification” msg. I personally get pretty annoyed if I’m having a conversation with one poster in a thread and the person knows I’m checking the page frequently but he/she keeps on quoting me each time, that just makes me want to :femme:
^ I hope that made sense ![]()
Re: What do people mean by “Please don’t quote?”
OMG!!!
I do it because I don’t want any one from real life to identify me.
Once a girl post recipe and some of her family/friend knew who she was.
Re: What do people mean by “Please don’t quote?”
^ That is a fine point, sir. But you threw a googly with that “no indirect quote” requirement. But then..
