What do posters mean by this? I’ve seen people say this at the end of their posts and I’ve even seen a couple of people get offended when someone quoted their posts.
I don’t understand. Why don’t they want people to quote them? Surely, posters are aware that this is a public form, which, among other things, has the option to “reply with quote.” Am I missing something?

I have seen that request in reference to personal pictures posted temporarily which the poster wants to delete in the very near future.
It is a request the poster expects honoured as courtesy.

^I’ve also seen that in reference to pictures, particularly in the wedding section regarding wedding pictures, and I understand that. What confused me was when people requested not being quoted in reference to regular posts that don’t involve pictures.

Same here. I also understand in the case of pictures, but why would someone have a problem with a regular post being quoted?
