What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

Aik haddian jama karnay walay nay mujhay bataya tha k shiatan key skakal walay jin uss say kuttay aur gadhoon key haddian khareed kar lay jatay hain. Uss nay un say poocha inn haddion ka tum kia kartay ho , unhoon nay kaha hum paka kar khatay hain tandoori rotion k sath jo hum tumharay tandoor walay say khareedtay hain. Tandoor walay nay bhee iss baat key gawahee dee thee. :@:
See I can spin a very believable story. So can anybody. If you can believe them so you should believe me too. :silly:

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

I didn't believe the stories, not for a second...

Waisay that gives rise to another question.. where in the world do jinns get money from? :D

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

Allah daita hay.
They have big huge factories and mills in China , it is a Jinn conspiracy to make everybody dependent on their cheap goods and one day they will rule the world . Yajooj Majooj ka naam suna hay kabhi . Chinese Yajooj Majooj hain based on some Islamic scholarly analysis.

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

LMAO!! Acha tau yeh baat hai! :D

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

Bilkul I do not want to name that name of Islamic scholar for fear of fitna who is expert at Judgment day conspiracy theories. If you listen to his lectures you will quit being materialistic and will take a bin bas.
But funny thing is those who believe in his conspiracy theories are enjoying the life to the fullest. But they still have a staunch believer in his conspiracy theories. :smack:

Re: What Do Jinn eats & Drinks?

Peace Mirch Bhai! according to some scholars, jannat are present with us whenever we eat anything. If we read 'Bismillah' before start eating then on every single bite, Muslim jinnat take a bite (eat with) with us and if we don't read 'Bismillah' then the non-muslim jinnat (shaitan) eat with us.

Peace Khalil Bhai!

The hadith quoted by brother teggy clearly state that the Jinnat do eat.

Try not to consider jinnat same as angels as I believe angels doesn't required means of sustenance perhaps jinnat do.

Re: What Do Jinn eats & Drinks?

They better no share my biryani , nihari and paya. I hope they have their own food to eat. Right ? Because I never saw my food disappearing while I am eating.

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

Peace Mirch Bhai!

The jinnat eats hiddenly (ghaibana tor pr) where the human eyes can't see nor our food going to be vanish.

Re: What Do Jinn eats & Drinks?

That is what I read/heard.

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

As I understand things, jinns are humans too. They are named differently to distinguish between two groups of people in various arrangements eg ruling elite are labelled jinn and masses are called INS. unskilled and skilled workers, experts and laymen, setlers and travellers eg nomad and civilised. city dwellers and villagers, familiar people and strangers, locals and foreigners, leaders and followers etc etc.

Jinns are not any different creatures.

There are far too many myths, mysteries, legends, magical stories and superstitions are circulating in the name of islam. We need to educate ourselves to be rational.

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

I think INS in an arabic word which means 'mankind'.

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

Well if they didnt eat ..... why wud ZAKOOTA jin always say "mujhay kaam bataoo, main kia karoon ? main kis ko khaoon.... Zeyminaaaah"... in drama Ainak wala Jin.

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

^ movies main tau Jinn aadmiyon ko bhi kha jate hain

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

True but other uses are also there. This is not only in arabic but in any language. When we have fallen short of expectation in a negative way we say we are only human ie we are weak, error prone, incapable, limited etc. On the other hand we use the same word in opposite sense when we fall short of positive expectation eg we say we are not animals but humans ie we could do better. So it depends whether we use a word to describe our kind or quality eg we use word lion for people to denote the quality of bravery ie he is a lion. Lion is also an animal. Wolf in sheep clothing. He is a fox. Likewise the quran does not necessarily use word jinn to tell us about another kind of creatures. If it does then question would be what is that creature and what is point of Allah telling us about it? There are so many things Allah did not tell us about so why tell us about jinns? What do we make of word jinn if not humans?

Word JINN is from root JEEM, NOON and NOON. This root has many meanings eg demon, expert, insane, stranger, foreigner, outsider, mischievous, clever, nomad, leader, someone powerful, a person with means, chief, garden, someone who rules over a domain or is master of his field of knowledge, something that over shadows something or covers it or hides it etc.

As words have various meanings, which of those best suits in a context needs to be decided on basis what makes better sense and what makes the whole thing a nonsense.

The very reason people have divided into many sections is their attitude and approach to concepts and things. We just take anything in to any direction without any proof or proving and we do not learn about concepts of proof and proving. We are happy talking nonsense rather than trying to make sense of things. In other words we do not make proper use of our brains and senses and bodies and our environment, world or universe. This is why most people are said to be worse than animals who end up in hell 7/179 etc.

The question is, if jinns are not human then what are they and what are their capabilities? Do they go to heavens and are chased away by shooting stars? Is magic really supernatural power? Are jinns supernatural creatures with supernatural powers?

What are beliefs of people here so that we could take them one by one and see if they are true or false. Please keep discussion going for sake of learning.

Thanks and all the best.

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

interesting aspect......

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

In Quran 'Suraha e Ahqaaf' and 'Suraha e Jinn' deals with the subject of Jinns & their beliefs... In Surah Jinn, it is said that there are Momin and Kafir Jinns. Further it was also told that they (Jinns) believed what they heard from humans (for Allah) bcoz they thought humans won't fabricate things about Allah. This shows that they don't know 'Ghaib'. This point is further discussed in 'Surah e Saba' where it is told that Jinns didn't know about the death of Hazrat Suleman (AS) until he felt down bcoz his 'Asaa' was eaten by termite (deemak).

It is also mentioned at many places that Iblees (Satan) was from Jinns and was made up of fire.

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

Mughal1, I was just referring to the word ‘INS’ which appeared many times in Holy Qur’an and translated as ‘mankind’. I don’t need what other uses are and how it used/translated in any other languages.

And I don’t get it? why the link of other thread is provided here? are you referring those members such as described in the said verse? What are you on?

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

Thank you dear muqawwee, yes word jinns is used here and there in the quran as you explained but the point is what is meant by word jinn? Is it another kind of creatures or just another group of human beings? It is because unless we have some sensible explanation about it things would not make any sense.

If we assume jinns to be some kind of supernatural creatures like we believe about iblis or satan then we get ourselves into big problems eg satan is said to be a jinn but he can be everywhere at the same time. This is one of the main differences between say shias and brelavies on one hand and deobandies and wabies etc on the other.

It is from such basis that people derive ideas that prophets and saints have supernatural powers. Would you agree that satan has such powers that he can be anywhere in our universe? That when satans go to heavens they are chased by shooting stars etc? Do you agree that prophets and saints have supernatural powers? If you do is it possible to prove so from the quran?

regards and all the best.

Re: What Do Jinns eat & Drink?

Dear FairysAngel, of course the quran uses word ins in many places and it means people or masses or human beings but when words are used together about same kind of things then there is contrast between qualities of things which distinguish between them eg bright people and dumb people or skilled and unskilled.

The quranic translations are short interpretations of people from their own points of views not necessary what is meant by God. This is why each sect translated the quran according to its own beliefs eg look at shia, brelavi, deobandi, wahabi translations and see the differences.

It is therefore important to realise why one translation is misinterpretation and misrepresentation of the quran and not the other. This means we must follow commonly accepted rules when interpreting the quran as common ground otherwise we will keep on creating new sects in the ummah instead of eliminating the one's already created.

As for the link, it is given so that I do not have to repeat the explanation already given elsewhere. We need to look at whole picture not just bits in isolation. It is like reading a street map with help of its key map.

regards and all the best.
