I am a big spender on clothes!! I keep buying new clothes again and again. As a result, I have wayyyy too many dresses which I’ve bought and never worn or dresses which I’ve worn only once ( or maybe twice) and now they’re just lying in my cupbaord…what do I do with them? I can’t really give them away to charity cus most of them are really expensive party dresses. And I can sell them off to my friends ( not comfortable doing it).
I’m sure there are many other girls doin the same thing. What do you all do with all the dresses?? Just let them lie in your cupbaord? My cupboard is soo full right now, dunno where to keep the new ones:smack:
Suggestions please.
Are these Pakistani dresses? Can you fashion them into something else? I have a lot of paki clothes that just sit around but I also don't have a lot of events to go to.
If it's like western dresses and things I just do a clean out 2-3 times a year and donate it to charity.

what a waste! quite sad really.
you might want to consider curbing your spending..........
and why can't you donate them to charity? just because they are expensive? if that's the case and you can't sell them as "gently used" items then donate them or send them off to Pakistan to some needy girl that will give you duas for the rest of her life.
if i buy a suit for a wedding, i wont wear it to another wedding, instead i might wear it to a friends party, or someones aqiqa or something.....different occasion...
Like only one time I decided to re wear my bunto dress to this party (second time I wore it) and some aunty had on the same dress. So embarrassing and I was like “Oh no you didn’t girl” Ah well at least I pulled it off way better than her
Why can't you give them away to charity? Since when was outfits being "really expensive" a good enough reason not to give something away to charity, especially outfits that you're not wearing?
Sell them, there's always someone willing to buy stuff like that - you could even list them on Gupshup and see if anyone's interested. Are you based in Pakistan? If you're in the UK/US, there's a big market on eBay for outfits (I've sold a few on there!).
Otherwise, alter them and make them into something more wearable? Eg. stuff like lenghay, get plain silk trousers made for the kameezes and wear those?
Otherwise, they'd made some less fortunate girl really happy if you donated it towards her vari, charity is a sunnah and very, very therapeutic.
buy quality classic, well cut suits and shoes and wear them for years.
rotate with different shirts and ties, swap out accessories etc etc.
They are from better designers, oh yeah...canali, cornelliani, zegna and armani and everyone on saville row beat any bunto munto or dr turned darzi any day, and they dont die after dry cleaning them once :)
ahhhhhhh
btw ladies...wash em dresses, that 'airing' out of sweaty silky dresses aint doing much and the smell of old sweat reactivated with body heat at events mixed with the overdone perfume is just nauseating.
