With Afridi getting his 40th** MoM** award today, they all have the most Man of the Matches for their respective countries/teams!!!

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

Good on Afridi

Viv Richards MoM ratio is the best though. An award every 7.5 games

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

However it is not always the player who actually changed the course of a game and was instrumental in the win that's given the MoM. The awards heavily favour the batsmen imo, usu the highest run scorer (blindly) being honoured. Bowlers get the rough end of the stick.

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

What they don’t have in common:

a) Have 40% ducks out of their total matches played in their career
b) Average an abysmal 22 with the bat and 36+ (in some cases 48!!!) vs test playing nations in bowling
c) A free run in the team for two decades.

Look at his average ESP vs India.:smack:

If we as fan have such blind fanboyism then we can’t blame the PCB for being biased when they choose their own TTF

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

After reading subject I wished to write as below

  1. Two hands
  2. Two legs
  3. Two eyes
  4. one nose
  5. One brain ( though not sure about it ) .......

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

A free run haha

Dude you dont nothing about Cricket so please keep ur comments with ur self

Haters like you are obsessed with Lala because when ever he performs u come up with these useless stats

Free run hahaha

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

Know nothing about cricket? What an iron clad argument for a response.

A guy with a garbage average when it comes to batting and a sky high average in bowling somehow manages to play 400 matches. That is called a free run. While good talented youngsters like Fawad Alam with an average of 41, and countless other youngsters rot in our domestic circuit.

A person deserves his place if he performs consistently. This year alone he has scored 588 runs in 35 games, taking 34 wickets (less than one per game). That is a joke. Now multiply this by twenty years and you get what is called a free run.

You respond to an argument with your view and some sort of proof to back up said view. I had a view and I backed it up,unless cricinfo are also manipulating numbers. Otherwise an argument has zero credibility so don't use any ignorance as a badge of honor. If you say he is a quality player please prove he has played well consistently.

Thing is, no Afridi fan can.

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

Hahaha seriously stop making fun of ur self He has the most MOM for Pakistan and 370 wickets And talking about Fawad Alam Afridi was the one who introduced him in the team and and he is not a all rounder you need to watch domestic cricket more please

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

I can probably name more domestic players than you, no offence. The fact you don’t seem to realise we don’t need mediocre all rounders in our teams speaks volumes.

So far I have listed:

a) his rubbish averages in batting
b) his mediocre and pretty shocking averages in bowling
c) his 400 odd games across 2 DECADES hence backing up my view that he has been persisted with more than anyone else and has not shown any consistency.
d) out of 370odd games he has scored **less than 9 in 167 games. **In WHICH world is this good or acceptable?!!!

While the only ‘‘evidence’’ you appear to have is ‘‘he has more MOM than anyone else’’. So that is the sum of your argument? And you are telling me I do not know anything about cricket, come on man

I think he is mediocre, his performances show that. You disagree, please provide me numbers proving your point is valid. Let me get you started, for a solid batsman consistency means a very high batting average and for a bowler it means a low bowling average.

Maybe I, along with everyone else, have missed his amazing consistency hence the stage is set for you to prove once and for all that all of us have somehow missed his consistent world beating performances.

EDIT: its nearly 500 games. Amazed.

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

Afridi is good with ball but comparing him with these batsmen is same as making fun of ourselves in international cricket community.

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

Afridi iz better than all these playerz. C when afridi cms , everybody gets exited. Not only pakis but also indians n other people. While these playrz dont enjoy ths kind of welcome from ppl. Afridi iz madnes n i like madness. OYE SHAIRAA, CHAK DY PHTAAY..

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

They probably get excited because he is a free walking wicket. As for other players lets see:

Tendulkar, someone who is adored by a billion people, has broken every record or Ponting a TWO time WC winning captain. Lets not even start with Lara. All of them with ridicolous batting a averages that show consistency. Which for any person with even basic knowledge knows its a measure of quality.

Every other team does not tolerate people who are not consistent or who do not show it on a consistent basis. Your post shows why our country, which prefers neither and instead prefers a batsman who has scored less than ten runs 167/400 games with a laughable average, is suffering in cricket. Instead we prefer show ponies who do nothing and as above the evidence is staring us all in the face.

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

^Man ,u r trying to b smart, here. U are confusing d situation. Yeh, afridi has low average, but on the othr hand, holds the record of most 6s n also fastest century in d world. U r trying to paint afrindi in black, ignroing his achievments.

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

Lets talk about tandulkar. The man who got most ov hs runs , more than 70% playin on indian pitches. The man who got 100 centuries , n india lost all matches in which he made century score. Wow, welldone tandulkar, u r legend acording to our GS experts.

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

Haters will keep hating and I will still posting about the Only Superstar we have in cricket right now :afridi:

Hahaha and will get the last laugh!

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

:afridi:

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

Its sentiments like these which has led to decline in Pak cricket. We hero worship a mediocre player and put him above legends. lagay raho.

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

Tendulkar and Afridi in the same breath is an insult to Tendulkar and all cricketing fans the world over.

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

^Yeh, and i think u guys r insulting afridi. That tendulkar who got out when my boy shoaib akhtar bowled hm out on 1st bal. Learn to prais ur playerz. TANDULKAR CHUTTYA PLAYER HA.

Re: What do Afridi, Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Jayasuria, KP have in common??

What is Afridi’s average on Pakistan’s pitches then?

As for losing the matches, his job is to make runs. The fact India was a one man team was reason enough for him to proud.

Who is stopping you from posting?

As for last laugh, with the abysmal averages Afridi has you will be waiting a long long time to have your laugh. Unless his stats magically increase ten fold I am afraid you might be waiting for an eternity. So far the only arguments you have made are ‘‘he has most MOM’’ ‘’ he is a superstar’'. Who can argue in the face of such logic? :smack:

The fact we have a mediocre trundler for a superstar pretty much shows why we fail at cricket and everything else in our country. We do not value good people who show consistency or results. We love to value and worship personalities from sports to politics who have done NOTHING.

And the results are for all to see.
