Wish you all the best for you and your loved ones. I am a very good judge of people and feel it is a privilege to know such an outstanding person as you . Even knowing the person sometimes does not help, We are friends with this incredible family and they are wealthy beyond imagination their eldest daughter insisted on living with this Bosnian guy for a year or so to be sure and he still turned out to be a jerk and they went their own ways after 10 yrs. Yes having a child is the most incredible things ever.
And to you and yours also. You are a lovely person.
You are absolutely right. We never truly know the inner motivations of others but I hold on to the fact that most people I encounter in my life surprise me in the most wonderful ways. Most are kind and good.
You are very kind. He has cousins in Ontario that he recently started visiting. Most Airlines start to allow unaccompanied minors from age six on. Air Canada requires them to be eight which he just turned this year. He likes to refer to himself as an international man of mystery haha. What a goof! I’m certain Lil Harris could teach him lots of camping techniques!
My apologies for my little tale of woe. You were both kind to indulge it and I promise not to derail the thread again! Here was dinner last night:
I started craving it after you mentioned it so I just cooked a real big batch of it. I think I will freeze half of it. I will cook kaddi after I come back from Kelowna.
You will just have to come over for holidays, BTW the onions on haleem is the dehydrated kind, it becomes brown and crisp in under a minute and tastes better as it is not soggy. PS this is really easy stuff you just have to let it cook for a long time.
Shallot couscous and a salad of herbs (parsley, mint, cilantro, and lemon juice)
Went over well… next time I’ll try cheating and pressure cook the shanks to cut the time in half. I really hate using the thing but it’s on the top of my cabinets collecting dust!
haha..very easy for me, I have adapted some changes to make it easy. My family would make salan separately and that involves more work, I basically do the bhoona only of meat add spices and yogurt and add the grains and let it cook on very low heat so not really a lot of effort, if you are afraid of it sticking to bottom then throw it in the oven or use slow cooker.
Whole Food downtown has had a surplus of Icelandic lamb! They get it once a year but no one here buys it so it tends to go on sale (crazy Americans!) I’ve been purchasing it in bunches and stocking my chest freezer.
Fortunately I have leftovers of this that will last me two days. It’s basically harissa braised shanks.
