Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

sehri: a sip of water :bummer:

iftari: Arabic chicken biryani :smokin:

but abhi tak plate mein pari hai khayi nahi ja rahi :bummer:

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

Biryani aur woh bhi Arabic?? I am guessing a biryani that turns out “pheeki” is called “arabic biryani”

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

Yeah Sugar, you’re right. It does not have all those masalas of Pakistani biryani. I do not like too much masala in biryani either so I like Arabic biryani with a little masala but aaj woh bhi nahi khayi jaa rahi kya karun? :bummer:

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

There is this darn good arab food place at stienway street in queens. We used to get somekind of arab biryani from there. It was really really good.

Sehri, some naan and omlette.

spirits r down since the earthquake. Iftaari is nothing to write about.

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

Sahar how do u eat raw daal??????? Isn;t it very hard to chew?

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

^ I'm not sure what it's called. it's like channe, but it's daal and the roots have begun to grow... it's softer.

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

sehar
is it like nimko daal?

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

Oh man last nite it was like a buffet in our kitchen. We had chicken/aloo tikkis (chicken adn aloo mixed) from the night before, chicken pulao, leftover baked ziti, and our neighbor gave us some gosht ka biryani, chopped cucumbers and carrots, and raita/dahi bhaley. It was divine :yummy:

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

namak paray

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

dates and mango juice... and if lil sis permits... two springrolls and nuggets

Re: What did you have for Iftaari/Sehri

Yesterday, we had samosas, zucchini phulkis, alloo phulkis, and steamed broccolli with melted cheese.

I also made an experimental smoothie that didn’t turn out too bad! Actually pretty tasty.
-half an apple, cut up in small pieces
-half a guava, cut up in small pieces
-half a peech, cut up in small pieces
-several grapes
-several anar
-3-5 table spoons of apple cider
-3-5 table spoons of oj with pulp (i would reduce this next time, tasted a bit too orangy)
-yogurt

all blended together. I think next time I’ll add some bananas and get rid of the oj.
