lol, ok. I was just wondering. My mom spend hers as well, but I'm getting quite a bit, so I was just wondering what people usually do. I think I'll shop some and save some haha.

Its best to get some gold or something that u can keep... Better than spending on things that will not last...

I was gifted a set in Haq Mehr. Still have it.

My haq mehr was a gold set and I loved it. It's was actually more thn we asked and of course since the price of gold is so much higher now it's very profitable.

I didn't care for my haq mehr too much.. i told my husband to spend it on my rings, as i wanted to some kind of jelwery, that i could use everyday.. and also, when we got married my husband and i were still at uni/freshly graduated.. so we didn't have too much money and i really wanted a nice ring.
we decided to use half on it on the ring, and other half we invested. :)

I got all my gold written and given as haq meher from my in-laws side so I have all of that...

after seeing this thread, it suddenly dawned on me that after almost 16 years of marriage, I’ve never formally been given my haq mehr by my husband yet :hmmm:

He’s got sum 'splaining to do when he gets home tonight :bailan:

I just realized that too.I actually converted the Pakistani rupee to USD,and have come to conclude that he can keep it.Its actually almost nothing…:frowning:

Lol same here…mine is in US $ since we married here, but it’s such a pitiful amount, I’ve already been “given” it 100 times over :hehe:
