Re: What did u wear?
Back to the topic people.
I wore a yellow+orangish churi dar pajama kameez for miyoon.
For mehndi I had orange with mehndi greenish lengha. I had a chunri shirt and dupatta with it.
For shadi I had this beautiful bottle green gharara
For valima I had a royal blue pishwaz with tint of muave... :)
Re: What did u wear?

You did or you will? :aq:
Maroon is my fav colour, so there is lots of maroon in most of the functions.
My engagement dress is maroon kaam wala dress.
On Nikah I wore Maroon banarsee saree.
On Mayoon yellow cotton dress embroided with sheesha and thread.
On Wedding pure red sharara full of kaam.
On Valima day foan and maroon combination sharara on self print type fabric.
This thread needs pictures!

so some of u guyz need 2 calm down nd stop yelling at poor armdn. mayb the shock factor of the pic got to her/him
Re: What did u wear?
^ i’ would be shocked to see that type of pic in Pakistan…
but not in an american-paki wedding. And why armageddoN? :aq:
Re: What did u wear?
im shocked that you are shocked. OH WELL
hey pf, your wedding was superb, but i must say im in love with the photography. i mean the photoshoot, its awesome! the walima pics have the great lighting, props and expressions! its not usual stuff. the photographer has done justice to your clothes, features, makeup and just everything.
who's the photographer?
Yelling at you? Go read my message again. Even for PDA, what's your problem? If a couple wants to do it, let them be. Seems like you have an issue with everything.
no i dont have an issue..its a thought..that our weddings have started to look more like gora weddings....more and more of a spectacle....its as if we are too good for our own culture..dont take me wrong at all..i am not threatened by it...its just sad to see young desi girls dancing their hearts out in front of men at "mehndis" and 'weddings' ...kissing their groom in front of an audience.......you dont need an audience to kiss the one you love..hence my problem with PDA..i hope you all will be ok when your kids will take everything a step further.. :)
so you are implying its ok for pakistanis to abandon their values once they cross the Atlantic..or better yet…leave their country??

You definitely seem to have issues if you think that anybody who adopts a “gora” thing as being a part of their wedding is ashamed of their culture.
Weddings are very emotional events, and people get caught up in the mood and fun. So someone who would never ever do something, like dance or kiss their spouse or whatever, might just get caught up in the moment and do something uncharacteristic of them, especially if it’s their own/their child’s wedding, only out of khushi.
I think even PF said that her pic was a spur of the moment thing and not a “pose.” Just b/c a bride and groom hold hands or give each other a kiss doesn’t mean they’re always sucking face in public, nor it means that the girls who dance for thier sisters mehndi are professional dancers for men, as you’re making them out to be (no pun intended).. it’s simply that they got caught up in the moment. and it’s nto fair for you to imply that they are ashamed of their culture or making a spectacle.
B/c in pakistan, PDA is just not part of the culture… it is part of AMerican culture, whehter u like it or not…and if someone was raised here, is it fair for them to follow totally paki culture? No…if someone is raised in another country, it’s only natural that they will end up adopting values from both cultures. as to whether htey are good or bad values is up to that person to decide… not you. And, look at my argument about caught up in the moment.
anyways i still find it really amusing that you’re actually complaining about a cake! Cakes are so yummy! why so anti-cake? ![]()

Re: What did u wear?
pakifairy...ur last pic looks like taken from a mag.....realy nice
Re: What did u wear?
sara you missed my point...please refer to youtube...the mehndi videos are anything but spur of the moment. I am pretty sure their families are not happy to find their daughters dancing like that. Why would guys be even invited at such parties in the first place..its a girl thing, when guys show up..they make videos..and then those videos are put up on the net for obscene comments...how would you defend something like that???
wouldnt it be more convenient to have separate mehndis in order to avoid this.....? not ..... if your goal is to be advertised in such a way....
mehndis are not a 'bahana' to be besharam.
